Wow, we have made it to the end of another trip around the sun!
Time sure seems to be speeding up.
They say it goes by fast and you should enjoy your childhood.
At this point I rolled my eyes and thought, what do They know?!
They say enjoy your babies because it goes by so fast.
By now I was starting to believe them, and even though the days are long with small children, I knew the years would be short.
How bitter sweet it is to watch one’s children grow.
They say your life will go by in the blink of an eye. And here I am, in my middle years a full believer in what They have to say.
Which is funny because as a teen I always wondered who They even were, They certainly had a lot to say.
And with that I wonder, how do we make sure to follow our bliss and what sparks our joy and ignites our passions.
Disclaimer – here comes some astrology speak, leap forward if it’s all ancient Greek to you.
Sagittarius season is in full swing and I am writing this under the Gemini full moon so it’s hardly surprising I am curious and philosophical.
Sag is a fire sign ruled by Jupiter who can’t not journey further and higher and wider than before.
Following the sparks that leap from the fire and burn trails in all directions.
Following the smoke that rises from the fire, higher and higher.
Spirituality, philosophy, Universal truths to be sought.
Then to teach and to preach and to open others up, to expanded ideas, awareness and acceptance of that which is different from us.
I am feeling from my soapbox, a strong desire to ask some hard questions.
Why is my gender less than?
Why is one religion better than another?
Who says?
Why is anyone’s sexual preference a problem to anyone other than their romantic other?
Who says that one culture is right or wrong?
With so much strife in the world, people killing over these things.
No matter your choice of religion or the name you give your higher power, there is no way, said power would want you to kill and torture.
Loving your culture is beautiful, but so is being interested, curious and accepting of other peoples.
Love who you love, and allow others the same curtesy. Would you like to be told you cannot love who you love.
Or you are less than based on your gender/culture/colour/religion
Where has our humanity gone?
If we spent more time finding our bliss and following the sparks, not only would we have less time to burn others to the ground, but we would probably find that following the sparks takes us into a village where we learn about a new culture.
Or meet a person and become their friend before finding out that we used to judge that religion.
You get my point…let me stop standing on my soapbox now (Sagittarius) and sit on it to meet you eye to eye (Gemini) as we look for solutions.
Follow your Bliss
Some of us have no trouble knowing what our bliss is.
I would hazard that most of us have no idea.
Then once we do find our bliss how on earth do we follow it?!
There are bills to pay, laundry to do, food to cook. Duty and responsibility for crying out loud.
Who really has the luxury of getting zen on a yoga mat every day, learning something new and exciting, hiking in nature regularly, taking up a hobby?
Hard, life is too busy and so hard and there is no time, money, energy blah blah blah.
Have we not all heard these stories coming out of our mouths on the regular?
I certainly have and I am on a mission to cut back on telling myself and the Universe why I can’t and I don’t deserve to follow my bliss.
The words we speak, write and even think, are creating our reality.
Even knowing this, changing the narrative can be tricky.
And until we develop new neural pathways and patterns we often default back to the old.
Awareness is the first step at changing, then we need to be gentle with ourselves as change can be 1° at a time and other times almost too quick for comfort.
To start with it is important to start to observe what excites and ignites you. I suggest turning your observer on and just watch yourself.
Then when you think you have something, follow the spark and see what trail it blazes.
Wobbly baby steps, a trot, canter or gallop all have their pros and cons so meet yourself where you are.
Trust that this journey is meant to be fun, exciting and interesting.
When challenges arise, as they will, you will rise up to meet them.
When treasures are found you will give thanks.
When enemies show up you will look for the lesson.
As you find your allies you will learn to be that to them.
Dance in the light of the sparks from the fire,
follow the smoke higher and higher.
If you are wanting support and a more personalised idea of how to get started, book a session and I will be your guide from the side.
Astrology Buzz
Sagittarius Nov 23rd to Dec 22nd
it may be the perfect season to follow your bliss, but if there were a sign that showed us that you can have too much of a good thing, it may be this one.
There is a tendency towards too much with Sag where we may not know when enough is enough.
Too much drinking and merriment can lead to someone getting hurt, things said or done that cannot be undone.
Too much study and philosophy and we may forget to appreciate the small moments.
Too much preaching not enough listening.
Too much needing to be the smartest or most interesting (on a pedestal) may lead to missing out on deep personal connections based on equality.
Don’t get me wrong Sag is a lucky and fun archetype but, by the end of Sag season we may need a little reset.
Capricorn Dec 23rd to Jan 21st
as usual each archetype (sign) has a corrective quality for the one who went before.
In the case of Capricorn following Sagittarius, it may be something like this.
You got carried away, it was the holidays, everyone was doing it.
We are meant to eat too much, party excessively and forget our responsibilities for a while.
In comes Cap to reign us in, with her no nonsense, practical and organized nature.
Time to pull up our sleeves and get back to some routine.
Capricorn rules the knees, skin and bones.
She brings us back to basic structures, what is the framework that I need to strengthen and stabilize?
Let’s contain that wild fire and channel the energy into building towards our dreams in 2024.
Like I said, Cappy for the win.
Can you see the beauty of the cycle?
Each time it is getting too much in one sign or season, the next steps in to rectify and rebalance.

If you are the type that does not know how to let your hair down
– Citrine
If you are the type that does not know how to put your hair back up
– Amethyst
If you struggle to transition between hair up or down
– Ametrine
Let’s unpack that.
These are all crystals that fall in the quartz family and they have a very similar chemical composition but the heat and which they form dictates what they become.
Amethyst the much loved and well-known purple/violet/lilac crystal has a beautiful calm and contain energy.
In days of old it was recommended to put one in your goblet as you drank your wine, to prevent drunkenness.
In myth it has its origins in a story around Dionysus in a drunken rage turning a maiden called Amethyst in to a pillar of stone.
No sooner had he preformed this terrible deed, than he felt ashamed and sorry for his actions.
He poured what remained of his wine over the pillar of stone turning it purple and the crystal Amethyst was born.
Safe to say if overindulgence is your issue, you definitely want to have some amethyst in your collection.
Citrine forms at a higher heat and is for sure more fun and fiery.
It is anywhere from a burnt amber colour to palest of yellows.
Like sunshine itself it is a wonderful stone to pull out some joie de vivre.
It will help you break out of your tightly wound self with some laughter, lightness and passion.
It is busy and loud, and it loves to create memories.
Making it a great stone for studying too.
If you need help having fun, Citrine is your wo/man.
Now for the piece de resistance (maybe I need a holiday in France), we have Ametrine a combination of Amethyst and Citrine.
It can be created by us heating amethyst to a fiery temp or it occurs naturally when a band of amethyst in the earth is exposed to a very high temp like a volcanic situation it begins to turn but before completely transforming from Amethyst to Citrine the temp drops and Ametrine is left.
It is such a wonderful blend being both Amethyst and Citrine, but also its own kind of magic.
It is a wonderful crystal to bring the balance, too high, or too low it can help you with that.
Obviously if you are me, you have all three in your collection.

Holiday season, getting out of our routine, these are the times we can more easily find and then follow our bliss.
Naturally it depends on our personality type, whether this unwinding malarky is quick and easy or not.
For me NOT, so I would look to use oils to sooth my mood, calm my anxiety and illicit memories of family, friends and joyful festivities.
Now these aromas can be very personal, so take these as suggestions and remember to use your oils regularly to get a feel of what does it for you.
Mood calmers: Lavender, Geranium, Rose, Lemongrass, Clary Sage and all of doTERRA’ s mood roller range Cheer, Console, Forgive, Hope, Motivate and Peace
Anxiety reducers: Bergamot, Wild Orange, Spearmint, doTERRA’s Adaptiv, InTune, Balance, Breathe and ZenGest
Festive feelings: Lemon, Juniper, Grapefruit, Frankincense, Rosemary and doTERRA blends Holiday Peace, Holiday Joy, Citrus Bliss, On Guard and Elevation
Oh my, I am a bit like a kid in a candy store…spoilt for choice.
Use any oils that are 100% pure essential oils, not fragrance oils.
I highly recommend doTERRA which is CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade).
Do you want to use the magic of doTERRA essential oils to support your growth?
