Hello Rainbow tribe it’s a leap year so we have an extra day gifted to us this month.
I love how it only happens every 4 years, and this one happens to fall on a 4 Universal year. There are no accidents much magical synchronicities.
(see my archived Newsletters here https://www.rainbowwisdom.co.za/post/rainbow-wisdom-newsletter-january-2020 if you missed last month’s explanation of the numerological value of 2020)
Our theme this month;
The Element of Air
Brings us to the last of this series on the elements…again archived newsletters on my website.
Air is the least dense of the 4 elements of matter.
We can after all see earth, water and fire but we cannot see air.
We feel the breeze on our skin, we breathe it into our lungs, we hear that strong gale, we see the leaves moving in the wind, but the actual air is invisible.
As the highest vibratory frequency of the 4 elements it relates to our mind and our intellect.
Despite the fact we cannot see it, it is paramount to our survival.
Air is happiest when moving, thinking, learning and communicating.
The 3 astrological air signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.
If you are one, or know one, it is likely they are always thinking, talking and coming up with new ideas.
Air can be disembodied so get grounded. Also, they may ignore EQ over the more comfortable IQ. Nervous tension is a big problem for Airy people.
See my Spotlight Advice below for some fun suggestions to work with the Element of Air.

Astrology Buzz
Aquarius Jan 21st to Feb 18th having survived the Capricorn season I am sure we are all feeling light as a feather having moved into the Airy Aquarius.
Likely after feeling the weights of your responsibilities, or stuck in your old ways, you are now filled with ideas as to how to change all that.
Out with the old and in with the new.
Or new solutions to old problems, that is how Aquarius likes to operate.
Outside of the normal or the expected.
Pisces Feb 19th to Mar 20th the dreamer, the mystic and the final sign of the zodiac.
After some visionary ideas for a better world in Aquarius, Pisces season it the time to dream what that would feel like, giving the vision dimension and making it feel real.
Then next month we begin the cycle again with Aries, and we break ground on that new world by taking action.
New Moon in Aquarius on the 24th Jan.
This was our first New Moon of the Decade in the sign of the visionary, how beautiful.
If you consider where you were between 2010 and 2020, I am sure much of what you have experienced and accomplished was unexpected and certainly unknown at the start of that decade.
What will the next one bring? How exciting it is to be a conscious creator of one’s own life.
Every thought, every word, every action you take is creating your future, be vigilant, choose wisely.
I will elaborate more next month on the Pisces New Moon on the 23rd Feb.
Red Tent is a magical and ancient lunar practice that helps us use the moon’s rhythms to create harmony, balance and overall wellbeing in our lives. Please enquire for more info if you feel called to.
Why not start the 20’s with a beautiful self-care ritual of Red Tent? You deserve to get to know yourself better.
Next Red Tent’s;
Mon 24th: Grahamstown 1.30-4.30 pm
Tue 25th: Port Alfred 1.30-4.30
Wed 26th: Port Alfred 7-10 pm
Full Moon is in Leo on the 9th opposing the Sun in
Aquarius.
This axis forces us to look at where we are too focused on ourselves and our own needs at the expense of humanity.
Or perhaps the other way around, forgetting one’s self in the service of the greater good.
See what comes up for you, but whatever it is, it offers you the opportunity to work towards better balance in this realm.
Crystal picks for February
Air Theme
Here are some magical Airy and Intuitive crystals.
Lapis Lazuli is a much-loved crystal of the ancient Egyptians.
It is an extremely efficient 3rd eye stone.
When the air energy is scattered and unfocused there are few better crystals than this.
To crack the whip and remind you to get focused and back to work.
Great too for use with a headache and to ground and quiet the monkey mind.
Flourite is a modern favourite and is one of my best for focus and brain balancing.
Societally we are so conditioned to use the left brain, but have largely neglected the right brain.
Flourite helps to get them talking and working together to improve our brain capacity and function.
This is the crystal to give you a clear head.
Selenite named after the moon goddess Selene, and so beautiful as to remind me of encapsulated moonlight.
It is a very high frequency crystal and equally sensitive.
It is perfect for Aquarius season as this Air sign is often thought to be a water sign because it is the water bearer.
Selenite holds strong air and water energy, bridging the head and the heart.
Aromas of the month
Essential oils are perfect for the element of air, as we breathe them in and smell them being carried by the air.
Breathe is an is an amazing doTERRA blend containing Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca (tea tree), Lemon, Ravensara, and Cardamom.
It maintains clear airways and easy breathing while minimizing the effects of seasonal threats.
If you struggle with sinus, or any chest issues and also for stress, this is the oil for you.
It is an obvious choice for our Air element theme, and often if you have a lot of air energy you forget to breathe or do so shallowly.
This oil encourages deep breathes which is immediately beneficial for the nervous system.
Eucalyptus is another option that works very well on the respiratory system. This is also an inexpensive alternative and one of the constituents of the doTERRA Breathe blend.
It makes for a very cost effective option for natural home cleaning recipes for those trying to lower their toxic load.
Uses and Blend suggestions:
Slow your breath - 1 drop of doTERRA Breathe in your palm, rub your hands together and then make a tent over your nose and BREATHE in deep. Instant diffuser. Let stressed out children breathe it in off your hands and rub any residual into your hair and it will waft about keeping you calm.
Sleep tight – for sleep problems due to blocked sinus, stuffy nose, tight chest or a cough, here are a few options;
1 drop of Eucalyptus or doTERRA Breathe in 5ml Coconut oil rubbed onto the chest and back.
For added benefit put some on the soles of the feet and a spot on your nose (diluted not neat).
Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?
It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain
In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream
By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body
Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
Spotlight Advice
Air Magic – Consciously working with this Element
The fourth Chakra is the Heart Chakra and it relates to the element of Air.
The 4th chakra rules the heart, lungs, circulatory system and more.
It is about giving and receiving, grace and compassion.
You cannot live if you are not breathing, that said, most of us do not breathe well.
In society today with the go go go mentality, breathing has become inherently shallow…a little like hyperventilating.
For people with a lot of air in their chart, you may assume they have ‘enough air’ but the truth is they ‘live on their nerves’ and this leads to shallow breathing and frazzled nerves.
An out of balance air element and this is for those with too much, too little or anywhere in between - air in their chart, is likely full of anxiety and nervous tension.
Sadly, as we have become more cerebral and more disembodied, this is pandemic in our society.
Let’s look at ways to balance our air.
Action Steps
1) Breathe: Yes, I can hear you thinking you breathe all the time, but the quality of that breath is in question.
Even by taking 5 to 10 deep slow breaths first thing in the morning and last thing at night you will see a marked improvement by the end of the month…stick with it, it takes 21 days to make a new habit.
2) Yoga: this is a brilliant way to calm the monkey mind, practice breath work and to get back into your body, rather than floating away.
I don’t know where I would be without my yoga practice.
Contact me for information on my class times if you are interested.
3) Meditation: goes hand in hand with yoga and breath work.
‘For those of you already saying, ‘I can’t meditate’, there are so many forms of meditation that you will definitely be able to find one you can do.
It does not mean you have to go on a silent retreat to an ashram and sit in lotus pose for hours on end.
For most of us that level of meditation is unlikely.
However, there is moving meditation, transcendental meditation, silent mind meditation and on and on.
When I trained in yoga and meditation, the first meditation I learned was a really great jumping off point.
Inhale and Exhale as you count 1,
Inhale and Exhale as you count 2, all the way to 10, then start again at 1…that is it.
Simple it may seem, but likely you will suddenly noticed you reached 23. No judgement just start again at 1.
Set your timer for 5 min and practice daily at the same time of day for best results.
But do practice, it is better to do it than not to.
I challenge you to 5 min a day for 7 days.
I look forward to hearing how it went.
Personal coaching and healing, yoga and meditation are part of my offering so if this hit a nerve and you feel the need get in touch for more info.
