Rainbow Wisdom Newsletter August 2020

Happy August, Rainbow Tribe.

It is Leo season, here comes the sun.

A little fun from the Beatles. But it is more of a metaphorical sun.

Leo is the sign ruled by the sun.

If you need a reminder about how this new astrological archetype theme works check out the last few newsletters in my blog.

The sign of Leo the lion is our theme this month;

Leo takes Centre Stage

Leo is the 5th sign of the zodiac and is represented by the lion.

We have now gone through the 1st sign for all of the elements and we begin round two with our 2nd fire sign Leo.

Fire signs always bring up intenseity, there is no such thing as a cold fire. Passionate, creative, dynamic, powerful, transformative, destructive, inflammed, impulsive, quick to react and act are all ways to describe fire energy.

The Sun is the ruler of Leo, and as we know Grandfather Sun is the biggest luminary in the sky.

As such Leo’s are often under the spotlight, centre stage…they don’t even have to try.

Leo rules the heart and at best is an extremely heart centred energy.

These people bring such joy and light into a room and are extremely generous.

Some of the more challenging Leo traits or shadow traits as I call them are; they can be loud and pushy, domineering, selfish, and either extremely attention seeking or the other extreme, super shy and attention avoiding.

Harnessing Leo…

The glyph shows a lion’s mane and it is rare to meet a Leo who has no connection to said mane.

Leo’s are often hairdressers, or they take their hair very seriously, don’t leave home on bad hair days, love to change colour and style or in general feel it is their crowning glory.

The stage of development that Leo represents archetypally it the point at which we are figuring out who we are as an individual…the fragile ego of this ‘teenager’ is beginning to evolve.

This is a natural and important stage of development.

We can look at Carl Jung talking about personas or Eckhard Tolle’s assessment of the Ego’s roles or even Freud’s ideas for a deeper analysis.

All fascinating and valuable, but for this purpose I want to keep it simple and concise.

We need to develop our self-esteem but manage the ‘size’ of our Ego.

Too Big and you may get an ego-maniacal, pushy and aggressive person. Who has to be the centre of attention, get all the lime light and create all the drama.

Too small a timid kitten who shys away from all attention, doesn’t speak up can’t tap into the joy life has to offer. They can’t take action and so moves through life making very little impact at all.

Leo rules the heart, so at their best they are heart centered benevolent leaders, a nurturing parent, a good provider, an effector of change.

Spotlight Advice

Growing with Leo

If you are resonating strongly with this Archetype then I am going to give you a few suggestions.

First to enhance the energy, second to sedate the energy and thirdly to enjoy the energy…lets jump in.

Action Steps

1) Enhancing Leo: Have some fun, this sign loves to enjoy themselves, so dance, sing and play. This will keep the Leo light shining bright.

Some powerful diaphragmatic breath work (such as many yoga breathing techniques) to boost that fire energy.

Make a roaring fire and enjoy a bit of fire gazing, feel the heat, the glow, see the colours and fill up on fiery energy.

2) Sedating Leo: Lions can be lazy and prefer to be in charge, telling others what to do for them. If this starts to show up for you and you are roaring at the people around you, I would suggest getting your heart rate up.

Some exercise that gives you a release, boosts heart health and your motivation.

It is also super soothing for Leo time to have your ego gently stroked.

Look in the mirror and comb out your hair as you tell yourself what a great job you are doing with x, y and z.

Or have a chat to a friend who will help do this for you. Sometimes we just need a stroke, a purr and all is well.

3) Enjoying Leo: Get outside, close your eyes and soak up the sun.

Get creative in whichever way you are called. Get your hair done.

Enjoy some family time. Make sure to get as much sunlight as possible, curtains and windows open wide to let in the light and much outside in the sunshine time.

Astrology Buzz

Leo July 23rd to August 22nd sees the sun come out, metaphorically speaking.

I think we can all agree that we need to let the light in right now and find out spark, passion and enthusiasm again.

Where is your joie de vivre?

Virgo August 23rd to September 22nd will help us to get a little more order and organization.

This hard-working sign gives us the opportunity to start working towards our new future.

The world will never be the same, and though we may have some sadness about the past we have left behind, a far better use of our time and energy is to begin building the new.

Don’t be too critical or perfectionistic about it either. Life is a journey and a process.

Full Moon is in Aquarius on the 3rd opposing the Sun in Leo.

Questions you may ask yourself in Leo/Aquarius;

How do I shine in my own right, how do I let myself excel?

How can I serve humanity or even just my community right now with no expectation of my own glory?

How can I find the balance between being self-confident and making time for myself to shine, while still being of service in an authentic way?

How can I make sure not to become self-sacrificing because I am so focused on the big picture, I neglect my body, mind, emotions and spirit?

If even one of these triggers you on some level, take the time to think about it, journal or meditate on it.

These are powerful tools or self-development.

Please remember I am a guide from the side, you are the sage on your stage. It is up to you to feel what resonates and remember there are many more ways this lesson may manifest for you than the ones I have mentioned.

New Moon: August Dark Moon in Leo on the 19th comes after all that tug of war between the two opposing signs of Leo/Aquarius.

At this point we go quiet.

We move inward and we do an authentic accounting with ourselves around all the Leo traits.

Where do these traits reflect strongly in my life?

How do I feel about that?

How can I strengthen or dilute this in myself?

Awareness is the key.

How can you change behaviors or patterns you are not even aware are there?

You can’t.

If your life has room for improvement, and be honest, who’s doesn’t, then these types of practices are so powerful to help you co create the life you choose.

Red Tent has been the most magical journey for me. I have followed the cycles of the moon for 4 years and moon manifesting is something I have personally experienced in more ways than I can tell.

This ancient wisdom is available for all women and I say jump. This is a chance to understand yourself in a way you have never had permission to do until now.

Crystal picks for August

Leo Theme

Peridot is one of the birth stones for Leo, it is a bright green colour that resonates with the heart chakra. It is very protective. One of the things that makes it super handy right after a long nostalgic Cancerian season is that it helps us to see what we need to let go of. They are usually only found in small pieces and are often faceted in jewelry.

Tiger’s Eye is probably already rolling around your home somewhere, even if you are not an avid crystal collector. Tiger’s Eye has a beautiful ability to combine the energy of the earth and the sun. This will help us embody the spark energy we get from Leo.

Sunstone is as the name suggests a very sunny stone. It helps us release stress and boost our energy levels. It encourages you to find your light and let it shine. Great for working on your self-confidence and for relieving depression.

Aromas of the month

Rosemary and Geranium are my pics for the month of Leo.

Just a reminder that your own intuition is always the best guide and what works well for one of us may not always work as well for us.

Because we are all different.

There is always another oil to try if your first option is not successful.

My choices this month have mostly been based on the fact that both Rosemary and Geranium support the heart and circulation but also for their wonderful effects on our hair.

It is super important for the Leo archetype to look and feel good. Hair, complexion, energy and vitality all tip top.

Now if I am honest there are a whole heap of oils I want to add to the list, like Copaiba, Lemon, Wild Orange, Lavender, Citrus Bliss and more.

But for the sake of keeping this newsletter to a manageable reading time I am going to hold myself back.

Only doTERRA with its CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) should be taken internally.

This link shows doTERRA is different co impact sourcing of Geranium and other oils in Kenya

Uses and Blend suggestions:

Thick and Healthy Hair – add a few drops each of Rosemary and Geranium to your store-bought shampoo and conditioner. You can use only one if you prefer. If you need a lice support, I would recommend adding Eucalyptus and/or Tea Tree.

Circulation boost – add 1 drop each of doTERRA Rosemary and Geranium in 5ml carrier and rubbed as close to low circulation areas as possible. For example cold extremities massage into lower legs and feet (if in doubt as to where is best, rub on your feet at night). Also rubbed on chest where the blood is pumping from is helpful.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

SAMPLE ALERT – I love to sample for FREE those who are keen to try out my magical oily friends. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to be sampled.

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
