Rainbow Wisdom Newsletter Dec 2019

Hello Rainbow tribe.

And here we are, the last month of the year!

I think our theme will help keep us going, cause the year has flown and now we need to find our reserves for a festive season full of anything from work to family and then some.

I can feel how tired we all are already so let’s harness the energy of;

The Element of Fire

After a particularly intense Scorpio season of diving for the truth, uncovering secrets and lies, and reassessing what is important, and what is worth fighting for.

We are all no doubt needing a break from the soporific and emotional element of Water and are ready to find our spark.

Fire has that awesome creative and passionate spark.

Yes, yes, like with anything there are some challenges too. Fire can be scary when it rages.

If you have fiery people in your life you know they may be quick tempered, impulsive and aggressive at times…or maybe you are that way?

Fire was probably one of mankind’s biggest steps toward evolution.

With the discovery of fire, we could see in the darkness.

We could cook our food; we could be productive for longer and we were kept safe and warm.

It was when we pulled away evolutionarily from the animal kingdom.

Good or Bad? Who can say, both and neither is perhaps the best answer?

However you feel about it, the power of fire has been huge for humankind.

But Fire is not just fire, it is also the energy of Grandfather Sun.

And all life on earth not only benefits from but depends upon sunlight to survive.

With Summer Solstice on the 21 Dec, a celebration of the sun, this is a great time to tune into your inner fire.

See my Spotlight Advice below for some fun suggestions to boost or tame your personal Fire.

Astrology Buzz

Sagittarius Nov 23rd to Nov 21st Fun, festive and passionate makes for a colourful festive season, one way or another.

Sag energy is freedom loving and adventurous. Try not to use it to run away at the first sign of family squabbles but rather to lovingly express your truth.

This is a hard one for many of us, but well worth the deep and authentic relationships our souls desire.

for me personally this is always a challenging sign.

I always think though, that Capricorn is well placed to get us off to a stable and steady start to the year.

There is no better sign to get us organised and structured (not my strongest traits hence the challenge).

After the fiery intensity of Sag good old Cap helps to slow us down and bring us back down to earth.

If we are not naturally grounded this may bring us down with a bump.

Do remember though, life does not happen to you, it happens for you.

New Moon in Sagittarius was on the 26th of Nov. It pulled us out of Scorpio which came as a relief and it was far more fun and feisty.

This is the energy we are still in so keep allowing for creative expression and learning.

Pay extra attention to animals that show up to bring you a message during Sagittarius season.

I will elaborate more next month on the Capricorn New Moon on the 26th Dec.

It is a Solar Eclipse so brings in even more intense energy.

And it goes without saying it will be our last eclipse of the year.

Red Tent is a magical and ancient lunar practice that helps us use the moon’s rhythms to create harmony, balance and overall wellbeing in our lives. Please enquire for more info if you feel called to.

With New Moon falling on the 26th we will have no Dec Red Tent this year.

If you are considering a new beginning to your self-care for next year and would like to join, our Jan date is below.

Next Red Tent’s;

Jan

Thu 23rd Grahamstown 1.30-4.30

Fri 24th Port Alfred 1.30-4.30

Mon 27th Port Alfred 7-10 pm

Full Moon is in Gemini on the 12th opposing the Sun in Sagittarius. As always, Full Moons are very polarising.

In this case both signs love to learn, so information is key.

Gemini is higher and lower mind and expression. If you know a Gemini, chances are they talk to much.

Did I mention I am a Gemini?

Sagittarius doesn’t want to talk about anything and everything but rather to get in to deep and researched philosophical conversations.

There with be impatience with frivolous and trivial on one hand and an excess of it on the other.

I can’t believe it is only a month since Annali Swiegers from An-Fold and I held our first, Astrology Retreat to Progress.

It truly was wonderful and there has been so much integration for all of us over the last month.

I can’t stress enough how knowing and understanding myself, shadow and light has made me kinder and more patient with myself and others.

Astrology has been a very big tool for me and one I use with all of my clients on some level.

I hope you will be able to join us for this at a later date.

Crystal picks for December

Fire Theme

Here are some of my top picks for a fiery energy in crystals.

Remember to always trust your intuition over and above anything you hear or read.

Citrine as I have said many a time is like encapsulated Sunlight, and Grandfather Sun is the ultimate fiery expression.

This crystal will bring with it fires energy, joy, sparkle and creativity.

It will keep us standing in our light and help us to feel sure of ourselves even if festive dramas arise.

Fire Agate is a great protector, imagine yourself in a ring of fire safe from all types of harm.

That is what fire agate does to your energy field.

It is grounding as all Agates are, but with a lot of fun and fiery energy.

Carnelian is Caleb’s fiery pic for the month. It is creative and has a real energy of movement.

Have you ever seen a still fire?

I have a lot of fire in my chart and find that rather than fuelling the fire in me, it adds a gentle focus to the positive fire traits.

Aromas of the month

doTERRA South Africa is taking off and I am running lots of classes.

The quality and ethos of this company has blown me away and I can’t wait for you to try their products.

If you are interested, please contact me

Here are my oils, with a fiery feel.

Frankincense is the king of the oils.

The Sun is the king of the sky.

Frank is opulent as any king would be and there is nothing cheap about him.

This oil is truly magical and good for just about everything.

That said you would never use it in your house cleaning products for all its antibacterial, antiviral properties.

It is amazing for skin (I add it to my face cream) and it is a hugely beneficial oil for stress, anxiety and fear.

Just breathing it from the bottle will calm your nervous system and bring you into a meditative place.

It forces deeper breathing which engages the diaphragm and slows wired nerves.

Once you have added Frank to your collection you will never want to be without this benevolent king of kings.

OnGuard is one of doTERRA’s magical and intricate essential oil blends.

Now I love to feel like an apothecary as I make my own blends and am not for a moment suggesting you stop doing the same.

But I am loving the well balanced and well researched blends.

They have a team of pharmacists, scientists and mental health practitioners developing these fabulous blends so if you haven’t tried them do.

OnGurard smells to me a little like Christmas, in fact as these oils are certified for internal use, I added a few drops to my crunchie recipe to turn them into Christmas Crunchies.

This is my hubby’s favourite oil.

He is immune suppressed after having a kidney transplant and this is doTERRA’s protective blend.

A combo of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Rosemary and Eucalyptus.

It kills germs fast. In a diffuser it keeps the air clean and in cleaning products it is a safe low tox solution.

Uses and Blend suggestions:

Quick Calmer - 1 drop each of Frankincense and Wild Orange in your palm, rub your hands together and then make a tent over your nose and BREATHE in deep.

Instant diffuser. Let stressed out children breathe it in off your hands and rub any residual into your hair and it will waft about keeping you calm.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.

Spotlight Advice

Fire Magic – Consciously working with this Element

If you were to close your eyes, tune into your diaphragm region (Solar plexus or fire chakra) and feel for yourself what your fire looks like.

Is it a candle flame, a raging forest fire, smouldering coals or dying embers?

Then start to ask yourself how that feels.

Is it too hot, not hot enough, wild or to contained, does it need fuel or focus?

If you have never done an exercise like this before be patient, it sometimes requires a little practice and always requires that you tap into your imagination.

Luckily fire is the perfect element to harness imagination, creativity, passion, energy, warmth, dynamism and more.

Let’s look at ways to balance our fire.

Action Steps

1) Fuel the fire: if your fire is low, first see if it is just that you have been busy and are running on empty or if it is a chronically low fire which means low self esteem and leads to; not making decisions, not taking responsibility for ones actions/decisions, shame, not having the courage to shine to name a few.

For the first one, some down time, some sunshine and you are on track.

For the latter it may require some help from a practitioner (healer, psychologist, coach etc) but to get started checking in daily with your fire and adding a metaphorical log daily.

What sparks joy for you, do that. Be creative, wear red/orange/yellow. Sit in the early morning sun, and as you soak it up feel your fire grow and glow.

2) Keep it Burning: If you decide your fire is feeling pretty good, give yourself a pat on the back and keep up the good work.

There is however no way it is good if you are not doing any work to keep it there.

And if it is good, that does not mean you can neglect it.

We will always need to tend our fire no matter how well it is burning now.

Neglect will lead to it either burning out or just one spark to get out of control and create a blaze.

3) Tame the Flame: If your fire is wild and out of control it is time to get real with yourself.

Are you turning into an egomaniacal monster? Do you take the ‘power over’ attitude towards others? Is your temper and rage rarely in check?

Time to tame the flame. As with ‘fuel the fire’ you may need help, but start by taking 3 long, slow and deep breaths before reacting.

Drink more water and get grounded to temper fire. Do not ware red, orange or yellow.

Personal coaching and healing are part of my offering so if this hit a nerve and you feel the need get in touch for more info.
