Rainbow Wisdom Newsletter December 2020

Wishing you all a magical festive season whatever form that takes this year.

Our theme this month is Sagittarius.

If you need a reminder about how this new astrological archetype theme works check out the last few newsletters in my blog.

Sagittarius, The Truth Seeker

Sag season always brings with it a lot of joy and enthusiasm which we all need at this point in the year and perhaps never more than this year.

Sagittarius is the 9th sign of the zodiac.

It is the last of fire signs, and is ruled by the jubilant and expansive Jupiter.

Jupiter makes everything bigger and Sag wants everything bigger too.

Sag wants to travel extensively, research and learn on a higher level, play and have fun till they are the last one left at the party and the sun has risen.

After a year where we have not been able to love and laugh in community like we are used to, we do need to be cautious with this Sagittarian enthusiasm to no throw caution to the wind and forget to be mindful and safety conscious.

If we look at the COVID-19 spikes, they have all happened when Jupiter connected to Saturn and Pluto (Saturn/Pluto conjunction historically bringing wars and pandemics has delivered as promised).

Normally we do not have Jupiter joining the party when Saturn and Pluto hit the same degree in the sky (last time was 82/82). So, Jupiter has made things bigger each time.

With that in mind we can be glad the last kiss of Jupiter with Pluto has passed. He w

ill soon pass Saturn with all his rules and restrictions.

Jupiter is a bit of a rebel and likes to try break down the fences and have fun in the next paddock.

So even as we feel the threat passing, we should not be reckless in our enthusiasm to break free.

Harnessing Sagittarius…

To tap into Sag on a higher plane it would be a good time to commit to a spiritual practice, as this is a sign that really wants to seek and learn on a higher level.

Be on the look out for how to grow the parts of your life you want to grow, but mindful that if your boundaries are too loose or you neglect to respect the boundaries of others you may well fall into the trap of growing that which you would rather not grow in your life.

An example would be if you wanted to grow your ability to be a bit more light hearted and have a bit more fun.

As you begin to do this is feels so much easier and distracts you from the serious aspects of your life and leads to overindulging and then to destructive rather than constructive patterns.

It’s okay, you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off and tap into the Lucky Sagittarius and start over.

This sign is represented by the centaur, half man/woman half horse.

In this we see a connection to nature and to animals, so pay particular attention to the animal messengers that come your way this season.

We also see the human half as the warrior, which fire sings to give us.

Courage, power, creativity, enthusiasm, transformation and dynamism all come from the element of fire.

Conversely fire can be angry, aggressive, destructive, reactive and impulsive.

Manage your fire well, as a forest fire is not so easy to calm.

Spotlight Advice

Growing with Sagittarius

If you are resonating strongly with this Archetype then I am going to give you a few suggestions.

First to enhance the energy,

second to sedate the energy and

thirdly to enjoy the energy…lets jump in.

Action Steps

1) Enhancing Sagittarius: This is a time to learn and to teach. We learn even more when we teach and Sag loves both sides. Take a personal accounting of your values and ethics, this is the perfect time to re-evaluate your philosophies for the life you choose.

2) Sedating Sagittarius: Do not get preachy instead of teachy. Not everyone has to see the world the way you do. Watch for excess and over indulgence. There is such a thing as too much fun. Remember the higher you climb the further you fall. Lot of swimming to damp down the excess fire.

3) Enjoying Sagittarius: Go on an adventure, Sag loves to travel. Choose one fun and safe place that you can overindulge, like learn a new creative hobby or take up a new coursein something you have always wanted to do. If fuels your passion and you can get carried away without it becoming destructive.

Astrology Buzz

Sagittarius November 23rd to December 21st brings a fiery boost and also the Eclipse season as you will see below. Remember Summer Solstice on the 21st

Capricorn December 22nd to January 20th Happy solar returns to those celebrating their birthday in Capricorn.

Full Moon was in Gemini on the 30th opposing the Sun in Sagittarius.

It is an eclipse, the first in Gemini since 2012.

If you know the area (house) in your natal chart where Gemini is it will be useful to help you understand what is being illuminated.

This is the same ground Venus was covering (April – July) when she had her retrograde cycle, so the theme for you may be similar to then.

What we were Re_evaluating (Venus/Values) in April to July is now coming up again with the lunar eclipse.

This time as the Moon is about our needs it is an opportunity to see what steps we need to take to get our values and needs aligned on this higher level.

As with all full moon phases, forgiveness is very powerful now.

Questions you may ask yourself in Gemini/Sagittarius;

What quick steps and changes can I make to my daily routines that will align with my new needs and values?

How can I distract myself from the big picture (Sag) and focus on the short-term projects (Gemini) while I assimilate this new direction?

What bores (Gemini) me and how can I find my passion (Sag) again?

If even one of these triggers you on some level, take the time to think about it, journal or meditate on it.

These are powerful tools or self-development.

Please remember I am a guide from the side, you are the sage on your stage. It is up to you to feel what resonates and remember there are many more ways this lesson may manifest for you than the ones I have mentioned.

And then we have December’s Full Moon on the 30th in the sign of Cancer.

As it is at the end of the month, we will look at it in the Jan newsletter…2021 is almost here.

New Moon: December Dark Moon in on the 14th is also an Eclipse This time in Sagittarius same axis, but where at full moon the conversation is from opposite ends of the table (Gemini/Sagittarius), at new moon, the sun and moon are like whispering lovers in a booth (both nestled in Sagittarius).

Same subject but the tone and attitude of the conversation is different, they are both feeling the Sagittarian stand point.

Ready to expand their horizons together, to play, explore and be passionate. To hunt for the deeper meaning of life.

This is the time to seed your intentions and to do the shadow work or inner healing.

As you do this for yourself, it begins to reflect in your relationships with those you love.

Don’t know where to begin? Contact me and I will get you started.

Crystal picks for December

Sagittarius Theme

Turquiose is a stone close to my heart. It is extremely protective which the sometimes-excessive Sag needs. It also works to both sides of Sagittarius, helping to integrate both the intellect (human) and the instinctive (animal) aspects of our inner centaur. Turquoise is also great for working with spirit animals, something we can do more easily in Sag season. It is a much loves stone of the Native Americans, Incas and Aztecs to name a few.

Apopholite, often referred to as the ‘stone of truth’. It is beautiful and somewhat fragile, just as the truth can be. As Sag is a truth seeker this stone can help to facilitate that journey, should you wish to take it. It has a lot of light and clarity and that can be used to focus in on where we need to go.

Blue Lace Agate oh my familiar friend. This is a much-loved member of our family. Blue lace also has a strong connection to truth, but here it is gently revealed and it also operates to sooth you while said truth is being reviled. Acting like rescue remedy or chamomile oil. If you are prone to being a know it all, this will slow and calm the way you speak. This is a shadow trait of Sagittarius so if this is you use your Blue lace agate to zip it and listen. If you tend to be the other way around and loose your voice (metaphorically or literally) you can use Blue lace to give you the gentle courage to speak your truth.

Aromas of the month

Tangerine and Bergamot are my pics for the month of Sagittarius.

Tangerine is very much like Sagittarius energy.

It is zesty, bright, intrepid, zany and sharp at times…too much gets a little acidic.

This oil not only boosts your immunity, metabolism and protects your cells.

It is also amazing at lifting your moods, especially the very Sag traits of impulsivity and irritability.

It is hard to feel sad or stuck when sipping on some Tangerine water or inhaling deeply from the bottle.

Then we have Bergamot, which acts a little differently to the other citrus oils.

It is virtually a rule of thumb that citrus oils are uplifting and energising. Though Bergamot is those things it is far gentler in its approach.

It is in fact an extremely calming oil. Soothing our stressors and calming our addictive tendencies.

It is the flavour used in Earl Grey tea…1 drop of oil in rooibos is delish (high quality doTERRA oils only if taking internally).

Remember Citrus oils make our skin more photosensitive so don’t use on your skin before going into the sun.

Lighten up– add 3 drops Tangerine, 1 drop each of Spearmint and Lemongrass in your diffuser. Should shift even the heaviest moods.

Drink it in – I highly recommend if you have doTERRA oils that you add the citrus oils to your water and your tea. You can make the oil the tea all on its own or you can add to rooibos or other teas to enhance.

Less is more, so I recommend using a toothpick, which is dipped into your oil bottle and then stirred into your tea. Do this a few times if needed to get the flavour strength you like…1 drop is often way too strong.

A little goes a long way with doTERRA. In fact, a little bit done often is one of the ways to really get the most from your oils.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body
