Rainbow Wisdom Newsletter January 2021

Happy New year.

I am sure most of us can feel the lightness as shift into 2021 on some level.

It is okay to be realistic that the breaking down of social structures and norms of 2020 will not suddenly come to an end and life will be ‘normal’ again.

But it is time to Vision the NEW NORMAL and put in the work that is required to get there.

Our theme this month is Capricorn.

If you need a reminder about how this new astrological archetype theme works check out the last few newsletters in my blog.

Capricorn, The Father

Capricorn has been the energy of the entire 2020.

In fact, 2019 prepared us as we began and ended the year with New Moon Eclipses in Capricorn in 2019 and then began 2020 with the conjunction of Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn.

Jupiter joined the party with Pluto and Saturn all in the late degrees of Capricorn (do you know where in your chart this is?) and this is where some very hard work and big changes have been in progress.

It is with great relief Saturn and Jupiter have moved into Aquarius. Pluto is still in Cap for a few years…He is a generational planet and moves very slowly.

This Capricorn season as the sun shines his light on this area of our charts, it is a good opportunity to assess the damage after the storm and to begin the rebuild.

Capricorn is the 10th sign of the zodiac.

It is the last of the Earth signs, and is ruled by the Saturn, the planet of hard work.

Saturn and Capricorn demand discipline and effort, if effort is not put in the shadow of this energy will come through.

Harnessing Capricorn…

How can we use this energy wisely then?

Well, this may look somewhat different for us all. For some of us this sign comes easy for others, like me…it requires wait for it, EFFORT.

If Capricorn energy is balanced there is a deep respect for the structures and authority in one’s society and community.

Clearly this level of world mastery has not been achieved, in fact if we look at 2020 this is the exact thing that has broken down, because the world/country leaders have a ‘power over’ idea of authority.

We have been led by bullies, dictators and those with ambition only for themselves, showing a lack of respect for the people they are leading.

Capricorn is the tenacious goat however and it seems it has woken us sheep up to the point where we will not follow the emotionally vacant bullies any longer.

How does that look for you and for me we are now asking ourselves?

We can use the higher expressions of this sign to achieve the results we want if we dedicate out time, energy and personal development to that end.

Before we blindly give away our power and respect to those who don’t deserve it, we need to bring that back home.

Self-respect and personal integrity come first. Materializing what is important to you and your community does take effort, but that doesn’t mean we have to be grumpy and miserly.

If you are heart centered, there is nothing better than giving, and through the giving we receive three-fold.

Spotlight Advice

Growing with Capricorn

If you are resonating strongly with this Archetype then I am going to give you a few suggestions.

First to enhance the energy, second to sedate the energy and thirdly to enjoy the energy…lets jump in.

Action Steps

1) Enhancing Capricorn: This is a time do a solar goals mind map.

I love these at this time of year, we are starting a new solar cycle and Cap loves to plan.

“Failing to prepare is like preparing to fail” was likely a quote from a Capricorn.

Solar goals are literally your goals for the next solar cycle of 12 months.

This is also a good time to get organised and put in some work on projects you value.

2) Sedating Capricorn: If you start to sound like a bossy dictator, take a deep breath, go for a walk remember you can’t always be the boss or the leader.

Get out in nature to calm this hard-working earth sign. Take some down time and invest some time with home and family.

All work and no play make’s Capricorn a dull boy/girl.

3) Enjoying Capricorn: Get to work, Capricorn quite enjoys hard work.

Balancing your books may be right up there in the fun department if you have strong Capricorn.

Build something, a project with something to show for it in the end is extremely satisfying for Cap. Take your time and do it your way.

My Website is having a revamp and I am so excited for you to see it soon.

Numerology – Universal 5 year

Before we move on, as you may remember, in January I like to give us a look at the Universal year number.

In numerology we work out the World/Universal year number by reducing that number like this;

2021 – 2+0+2+1 = 5

Making this year a 5 year, which is all about movement and change.

After the year we have just had, this is extremely exciting to see. But Change is not always easy for us, if you watched my card reading for the week it really is about this exact thing.

If you want to work out what personal year you are in you take the day and month you were born and add it to this year, like so;

18 06 2021 – 1+8+6+2+2+1= 20 – 2+0= 2

So, I am in a personal 2 year during a Universal 5 year.

Astrology Buzz

Capricorn December 22nd to January 20th brings us back to earth and the practicalities and routines of our day-to-day life. The holiday was fun but reality is calling.

Aquarius January 21st to February 19th Happy solar returns to those celebrating their birthday over Aquarius season.

Full Moon was in Cancer on the 30th opposing the Sun in Capricorn.

As with all full moon phases, forgiveness is very powerful now.

As I mentioned earlier how huge Capricorn has been in the last few years, and Cancer/Capricorn was our previous Eclipse cycle so a forgiveness ceremony would be very powerful as this energy is starting to wane, and the lessons it brought are hopefully being completed on some levels.

Questions you may ask yourself in Cancer/Capricorn;

What have I learned through 2020 about balancing home (Cancer) and work (Capricorn)?

What can I do to nurture (Cancer) my needs, even when I have responsibilities (Capricorn)?

How can I build (Capricorn) a new and practical routine and release the old nostalgic and traditional (Cancer) patterns and paradigms?

If even one of these triggers you on some level, take the time to think about it, journal or meditate on it.

These are powerful tools or self-development.

Please remember I am a guide from the side, you are the sage on your stage. It is up to you to feel what resonates and remember there are many more ways this lesson may manifest for you than the ones I have mentioned.

And then we have January’s Full Moon on the 28th in the sign of Leo.

As it is at the end of the month, we will look at it in the Feb newsletter.

New Moon: January Dark Moon in on the 13th in the sign of Capricorn.

This is the time to seed your intentions and to do the shadow work or inner healing.

Moonifesting is a very powerful practice and each cycle begins at the New Moon.

If you are ready to change your story and heal old wounds, I would love to be your guide from the side.

Red Tent

Dark Moon is when women gather in the Red Tent.

Remember we are operating on a global level now so get in touch if you want to find out how to join us.

Here are a few testimonials from some of our magical moon sisters

“Belonging to the Grahamstown Red Tent Group has given me a sense of community and sisterhood which is invaluable as I live very remotely on a game farm. The virtual meetings are colourful, and fun. The info shared has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. Cindy’s meditations are exceptional, leaving one healed and peaceful after listening to them. All members of the team support those who are struggling and rejoice happy news and achievements. A great group of caring ladies.” Lorna

“I met Cindy, a wise, dynamic and authentic woman, though a friend 3 years ago and was introduced to Red Tent. What a life changing moment it was! I found a space where I was accepted for who I am, a space to grow emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I became part of a sacred sisterhood where women celebrate each other instead of tearing each other down. A family of soul sisters that catch you when you fall in the web of love we weave. Together we have grown over the years, faced our shadow sides and gained infinite amounts of wisdom, tools and confidence. It has become an irreplaceable part of my self-care and spiritual practice. I just love my Red Tent family and am eternally grateful to have been guided to them.” Yolande

Crystal picks for January

Capricorn Theme

Galena is not a common stone. It is lead based which makes in heavy and therefore grounding. It also resonates strongly with the energy of Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn. It is very good at opening our minds and taking us beyond our limiting self-beliefs. This is important with Capricorn, who can get stuck in the ‘my way or the highway’ mindset. Galena encourages investigation and experimentation and Cap is not afraid to put in the hard work.

Garnet, will bring passion, joy and lightness to Capricorn’s rather serious demeaner. Garnet can help Cap to lead from their heart and their passions rather than trying to control others or your environment. Inner authority is key and garnet wants you to remember to self-nurture and enjoy the earthly pleasures.

Snow Quartz is like floating on a cloud, and yet like all quartz it is extremely hard and gives you a firm support. Hard but soft, just what Capricorn needs. They can be hard and all edges, but this stone helps to soften said edges and allows them space to be gentle and kind, to themselves and then to others. Cap likes to be the boss, but Snow Quartz teaches how to be the boss without being bossy, controlling or aggressive. Holding space that is gentle but stable, with good personal boundaries is the mark of a remarkable leader, who brings out the best in their team/family.

Aromas of the month

Siberian Fir and Citrus Bliss are my pics for the month of Capricorn.

Siberian Fir is my first Capricorn pick because it is a tree oil.

Think of a fir forest of tall, straight trees with deep roots. Grounded, structured and earthy, just what Capricorn loves.

Now think of those fir needles, sharp and pointy. Standing in your imaginary fir forest take a deep breath and notice the sharp and woody smells…at once grounding you and also clearing your mind.

Don’t you feel calm and focused?

If your imagination is not enough this is a beautiful oil to use.

Did I mention it is a great oil to support detox…which we are all likely setting up for after too much merriment after the holidays. It detoxes the liver, increases sweating which speeds up detox. It boosts immunity and strengthens our lungs.

Then we have Citrus Bliss, which is literally a bunch of different citrus oils with a warm and welcoming vanilla oil anchoring those fun and flirty citruses.

For me it is like happiness and calm rolled into one.

We know by now that Capricorn can be a little serious, and perhaps struggles to make the shift from work to play.

Well, this little tool is a great transition oil. Get it diffusing in your home after work.

Use it to flip the switch from work to play by doing a scent tent.

Do you remember how to scent tent? See below.

Uses and Blend suggestions:

Time to Work add 3 drops Siberian Fir, 3 drop each of Bergamot (featured last month) and Clary Calm in your diffuser.

And/or make a 10ml roller ball 5 drops each of the same 3 oils and roll it on the back of your neck, insides of your elbows and wrists as you settle in to get some work done.

This blend will help keep you focused, alert and calm.

Time to Play – it is this simple…make a Citrus Bliss scent tent when you need to relax and let your hair down. 1 drop Citrus Bliss in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, form them into a tent over your nose and mouth and take 3 deep breaths.

I then like to rub the residual oil on my hands onto the back of my neck or through my hair to keep in gently wafting into my space.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

SAMPLE ALERT – I love to sample for FREE those who are keen to try out my magical oily friends. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to be sampled.

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
