Rainbow Wisdom Newsletter May 2020

Hello Rainbow tribe. I have been a lover of rainbows since forever, and I love how they are now being used as the symbol of hope.

As you may remember we started with a new 12-month theme last month; understanding the Astrological archetype that is in play that month.

A reminder about how this works.

Most of you know your ‘star sign’, which is actually your sun sign (which constellation the sun was in at the time of your birth).

For example; the sun was in Gemini when I was born, but the moon was in Aries. And the constellation of Leo was rising on the horizon (my Ascendant or rising sign).

These three are very strong influences in my chart, but even signs that don’t show up strongly in my Natal chart (blueprint) will aspect on some level in my life.

The idea of the themes is to see which archetypes resonate and learn more about yourself as you do.

As such, our theme this month;

Taurus the Muse

Taurus is symbolised by the bull and is the 2nd sign of the zodiac.

This can show up as a positive or as a challenging part of your personality.

In fact, if you have Taurus showing up strongly for you the chances are you have both the shadow and the light traits.

Taurus can be gentle, kind, love nature, sensual, reliable, slow and steady. They are also extremely nurturing and tactile.

They can also be stubborn, lazy, resistant to change, over indulgent, stingy and materialistic.

Ruled by the planet Venus the goddess of love.

This is why Taurus is the muse, like Venus or her Greek counterpart Aphrodite.

This planet is all about beauty, love and a feast for the 5 senses, just like Taurus.

Harnessing Taurus…

At this lockdown, corona time fear and boredom may lead to some shadow Taurus traits.

Laziness and gluttony which can be exacerbated by boredom. Fear and boredom can lead to comfort eating our way through the lockdown which will have a detrimental effect on our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

As Taurus links strongly to our self-worth it is important this month that we think about how we create value for ourselves and others.

So please try to stop feeding (literally and figuratively) the fear, or slothing about.

And rather start to slowly and steadily put systems in place to grow your self-worth in order to improve your net worth.

It is inevitable that this will happen, but how and when, are not areas of the law of attraction in which you have control.

Your control lies in vigilance with your thoughts and keeping your focus on self-care (because you are WORTH it) and kindness and compassion (because others are WORTH it too).

Spotlight Advice

Growing with Taurus

If you are resonating strongly with this Archetype then I am going to give you a few suggestions.

First to enhance the energy, second to sedate the energy and thirdly to enjoy the energy…lets jump in.

Action Steps

1) Enhancing Taurus: being an earth sign any use of earth, from gardening, woodwork, flower arranging or kneading bread.

The areas in your life you have been needing steady progress with, you can find it now.

You can certainly tap into endurance and reliable effort at this time.

This sees the seasonal shift into Autumn (Southern Hemisphere) or Spring (Northern Hemisphere) and Taurus helps us to tune into nature and her natural rhythms.

We have also shifted from thousands of years of predominantly yang (active/masculine) energy into predominantly yin (receptive/feminine) energy and this month in Venus (Feminine) ruled Taurus, we will find it easier to connect to the new normal.

2) Sedating Taurus: Unhappy earth energy becomes stagnant, rigid and immovable.

So, if you want to create some movement you could try some gentle yoga, bringing in a lot of breath work and movement (air) to shift the earth.

You could take a swim/bath/shower as water makes mud, which is no longer as stuck.

A good fire, maybe a braai is in order, will burn away the dead wood so we can steadily create new and more appropriate structures in our life.

3) Enjoying Taurus: Anything with the yum yum factor should do it.

Allow feasts of the 5 senses and Taurus will be in heaven on earth.

Use your essential oils, rearrange your lounge to look amazing, listen to music, live, laugh and love.

Spend lots of time out in nature.

Astrology Buzz

Taurus Apr 21st to May 21th are you smelling the roses?

Breathing deep and enjoying the healing power of nature?

I hope so.

Don’t let yourself fall into apathy and get too sedentary now or you will lose all momentum.

Gemini May 22nd to June 21st if you did get a little stuck, never fear the whirlwind that is Gemini comes next and it will force you to get creative, communicative and expressive.

Air signs are great for seeing the big picture, from way up high with a bird’s eye view the mundane details seem easily surmountable.

New Moon in Taurus on the 23rd was a beautiful time to plant our metaphorical and physical seeds as earth signs love for us to get connected to the earth.

There was a slowing feeling and either apathy and idleness may have set in or hopefully an appreciation for life’s pleasures and determination to stand strong even in adversity.

Our May New Moon in the sign of Gemini falls on the 22nd, my husband’s birthday.

This will be the perfect time to set intentions to manifest with the moon around issues of communication, creativity and socialising.

Red Tent is a magical and ancient lunar practice that helps us use the moon’s rhythms to create harmony, balance and overall well-being in our lives.

With the lock down Shona (my magical co facilitator) and I are getting creative and setting up an online platform as well as our 3 Red Tent groups, if you live close by and we can meet here are the dates.

If not, we would love to see you at our online platform, let us know if you would be interested in joining us for that experience.

Next Red Tent’s;

MAY - Gemini

Tue 19th: Port Alfred 1.30-4.30

Wed 20th: Port Alfred 7-10pm

Thu 21st: Grahamstown 1.30-4.30pm

Full Moon is in Scorpio on the 7th opposing the Sun in Taurus.

The Taurus/Scorpio axis pushes us to deal with surface (Taurus) vs depth (Scorpio).

Taurus preferring things to be pretty, comfortable and enjoyable, where Scorpio wants to get into that closet and unearth all the not so pretty, comfortable or enjoyable skeletons.

How can you find a balance?

Can I enjoy life’s pleasures or do I feel like life is always about suffering and struggle?

Do I have the courage to look at my darkness and depth, or do I prefer to play in the shallows?

See what comes up for you, but whatever it is, it offers you the opportunity to work towards better balance in this realm.

Crystal picks for May

Taurus Theme

Emerald is the colour of the master healer Archangel Raphael.

It connects us to our heart and feeling balanced.

It is hugely helpful in deepening and strengthening love and relationships of all kinds…and said to help domestic bliss.

Which we could all do with in these trying times.

Of course, it is not exactly an easily available stone so great if you have it, if not Green Tourmaline is a good substitute.

This too is not the most common of crystals and feeling yourself wrapped in a cloak of emerald green by Archangel Raphael, imagining it catching the light like the crystal would is a good alternative.

Rose Quartz like emerald, is also a birthstone of Taurus.

Many of us have these pretty pink stones around our homes.

Again, this is a crystal of love and relationships.

I find Rose Quartz to have a particularly strong feminine and mothering energy. Healing all relationships pertaining to the feminine.

It is extremely gentle and loves water so add it to your bath or your drinking water.

Children are so drawn to the nurturing energy of Rose Quartz

Moss Agate is a stone that connects us to nature, I just see it or even hear its name and I immediately feel moss beneath my naked feet and smell the freshness of the mossy wood.

Cool, damp, mottled sunlight and shadow… magical. This ability to ground us and connect us to Mother Earth and her nurturing energy is so in keeping with Taurus.

Aromas of the month

doTERRA Deep Blue; this blend is wonderful to get deep into your muscles, joints and even digestion.

It combines Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus working together to soothe and cool.

Remember that there is the tendency to get slow and sluggish so this oil will help keep circulation and momentum.

Peppermint; which is a smell we all know and maybe even have mint growing in the garden.

It is included this month to help clear the mind, giving us focus and freshness to break the lazy and slow Taurus challenges.

This link will show you how doTERRA Peppermint is sourced

Both these oils will encourage digestion and momentum both of which can get sluggish with Taurus energy.

Uses and Blend suggestions:

Refresh your porridge brain - 1 drop of Peppermint in your palm, rub your hands together and then make a tent over your nose and BREATHE in deep. Instant diffuser.

Let stressed out children breathe it in off your hands and rub any residual into your hair and it will waft about keeping you calm.

Or (only with doTERRA Peppermint) rub a toothpick round the top of your bottle and then stir into hot water for some peppermint tea. (1 drop of doTERRA peppermint is enough for more than 20 cups of tea so don’t use a whole drop) this is great for your digestion too.

Ease those muscles and joints – 5 ml of fractionated coconut oil (or another carrier oil) into the palm of your hand, 1 drop Deep Blue.

Rub into any muscle or joint that is bothering you and/or rub palms together and then rub into your feet before bed time.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

SAMPLE ALERT – I love to sample for FREE those who are keen to try out my magical oily friends. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to be sampled.

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.

If you are keen to get hold of these magical oils, find me on this link https://www.mydoterra.com/cindyrainbowwisdom/#/

I am offering my guided meditations for free at this trying time. If you are interested please do not hesitate to mail me and I will add you to a meditation Whatsapp group. Meditation can shift not only how you cope, but how we all do so I would love to share my gift for guiding meditations as much as I can.

However, for those who are in a position to do so and who find my meditations valuable donations will appreciated.

Much Love and Light

Cindy
