Hello Rainbow tribe.
Having moved our way around the wheel of seasonal holidays or Sabbats I thought it would be good to understand the 4 Elements a bit better.
They are a daily part of our lives but how often do we stop and think or realise how important and how magical they are.
We start with;
The Element of Water
I chose water because we are in Scorpio season and Scorpio is a water sign, as are Cancer and Pisces.
These are the months when water energy is enhanced.
We can survive more than 3 weeks without food, but only 3 days without water.
Our bodies are more than 60% water after all and many if not most of our bodily functions would not properly function without water.
This is not news to most of us, we know how important it is.
In fact, I would venture to say most of you likely say on a regular basis, ‘I know I should drink more water’ or some such.
Please do listen to this inner wisdom and up that water intake.
Water is not only physiologically important though.
Water is the Emotional element and as is becoming more and more mainstream knowledge, our EQ (emotional intelligence) is proving to be more important than our IQ.
So, let us be more conscious and aware as we drink, bath and use water in a myriad of ways.
Water is cleansing, nourishing, clearing, hydrating and fun.
Have you ever had a tough day and after a bath, shower or swim you feel like a new you?
Have you ever felt headachy, nauseous, dizzy or just off, and then had a tall glass of water only to feel balance restoring?
You are using water’s magical properties daily anyway, but with consciousness you can super charge that magic power.
See my Spotlight Advice below for some fun suggestions.
Astrology Buzz
Scorpio Oct 23rd to Nov 22nd and you are no doubt already feeling the intensity. Please, please, please do not resist this energy.
Like the adage ‘what you resist persists’ tells us, if we want things to change, we have to stop resisting.
Scorpionic energy is the perfect opportunity to let the old die and to be transformed into a new way. There is a lot of very old patterning begging to be released this month.
Sagittarius Nov 23rd to Nov 21st Good news, after the deep dive into our emotions which Scorpio demands, we arrive in Sag, the freedom loving adventurer.
This is a time to enjoy a weekend away, or even just to plan a holiday. As with all fire signs you may find yourself bursting into action and full of energy.
The excess emotion of the last month turns to steam as the fire arrives and we have a reprieve.
However, if you were resisting in Scorpio season you may find yourself filled with anger and rage because you are masking the emotions you didn’t let go of last month.
New Moon in Scorpio was on the 27th of October. Well I think you know that it was full on. If you follow the moon at all you would not have been able to ignore it, from the physical symptoms to the emotional ones. If you do not follow the moon look back and ask yourself, what was I feeling, thinking, experiencing over the few days of New Moon? And if you see fit, how were the people in my life acting? I hope you were able to get past the sting in the scorpions’ tail and transform like the Phoenix instead.
I will elaborate more next month on the Sagittarius New Moon Nov 26th.
Red Tent is a magical and ancient lunar practice that helps us use the moon’s rhythms to create harmony, balance and overall wellbeing in our lives. Please enquire for more info if you feel called to.
Next Red Tent’s;
NOV
Mon 25th Grahamstown 1.30-4.30
Tue 26th Port Alfred 7-10 pm
Wed 27th Port Alfred 1.30-4.30
Full Moon is in Taurus on the 12th opposing the Sun in Scorpio.
We may find ourselves fighting against the Scorpionic desire to uncover all the deep dark family secrets at Full Moon.
Taurus would rather put another rug on the carpet under which things have been swept and then add a closet to hold down the carpet.
Should that be the same closet in which the skeletons reside it will be ornamental and nailed shut, but it will look pretty and be of good quality.
Taurus is after harmony, and a pleasant sensory experience, Scorpion is about transformation by suffering, or trial by fire. As always, Full Moons are very polarising.
Mercury Retrograde
To add to the excitement this month over Scorpio season Mercury is retrograde from the 31st Oct – 20th Nov.
Mercury is the planet of communication, technology and travel and when he is ‘going backwards’ all these areas tend to slow down or get a little more tricky and sticky (funny it goes retrograde on Trick or Treat in the Northern Hemisphere. Or Beltane for us Southerners).
As you are receiving this Newsletter, Annali Swiegers from An-Fold and I are facilitating our,
Astrology Retreat to Progress from the 1 – 3 November. This is right over Beltane so will be even more magical.
I hope you will be able to join us for this at a later date.
Crystal picks for November
Water Theme
There are so very many crystal you can use to connect to the energy of water. So as to keep it short I have picked a few.
Pearl and Coral come to mind first when I think water and that is for the obvious reason that they live in the water. Both of these are classified as being part of the mineral kingdom, but neither are made in the more normal way of other crystals.
Pearls are created by a clam due to a grain of sand irritating it. Think about a grain of sand in your eye and how your eye may water and shift it to the tear corner to be released. Well the clam can’t shift it, so ends up creating this beautiful calcification instead. Pearls therefore help us transform through adversity and have a strong connection to our emotions.
Coral is the home of many tiny little sea creatures, and it is alive itself under the sea. It too has a strong connection to emotions, community, the many facets of one’s self and one’s life.
Our theme is Water and the Moon controls the water on Earth and in our bodies. This said the beautiful opalescent Moonstone is a must have for emotions, moon cycles, hormones and more.
I love to have Rose Quartz next to and often in my bath. It is a stone that has a great affinity with water and emotional healing. I have it all around my home to keep the love flowing like a river in and out.
And lastly Aquamarine as the name makes me imagine diving deep into the aquamarine ocean like a mermaid it must be mentioned. This is a perfect stone for the throat chakra and really helps us to let our expression flow in an authentic way.
Aromas of the month
doTERRA South Africa is finally here and I will be running a free class on Thursday the 7th from 2 – 4 at my house to introduce these magical oils to you.
The quality and ethos of this company has blown me away and I can’t wait for you to try their products.
If you are interested, please contact me
So, I am going with some watery and juicy oils for you this month.
Lemon is often a visitor of my newsletters, because it is so versatile, fabulous and cost effective. Bright, fresh, and uplifting. It can be used in natural cleaning products, to scent your home and in any number of DIY home remedies.
Peppermint yes, I did cover peppermint last month too, but I had to bring in this magic again when thinking of water. We all know peppermint likes lots of water to grow well. Its balancing of our emotions by clearing our mind and brain fog and dealing with our emotional tummy trouble has to be felt and smelt to be believed. doTERRA Peppermint is something magical.
Wild Orange how I wish I had smell-o-gram, if you sniff this you will just smile. It is cheery and calming all in one and has been diffused in my boy’s room since I got it to help get them up in the morning without the heavy moods. It is working a treat. Antidepressant in a bottle and you feel the magic in every juicy drop.
Blend suggestions:
Mood lifter - 1 drop Wild Orange in your palm, rub your hands together and then make a tent over your nose and BREATHE in deep. Instant diffuser.
Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?
It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain
In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream
By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

Water Magic – Consciously working with this Element
I touched in the section on Crystals on how Grandmother Moon controls the element of Water and I wanted to elaborate a little.
If we are more than 60% water and the moon has the power to control the tides, it seems impossible to deny that she too would be influencing us.
If Water is the emotional element and we think of the moons ever changing shape, we may begin to expect that as she changes so too are our moods likely to shift and change.
But that’s not all, we are all under the same glorious moon, so it is not just you but also those around you who are affected by her pull.
Action Steps
1) Moon Journal: This can be as simple as jotting down your feelings at the New and Full Moon (most intense phases) or like me you may be obsessed with the moon and like to journal 8 times a month.
In each of the 8 phases of the moon. It is a gentle, cyclical practice like Grandmother Moon herself.
Don’t expect lightning bolts, it is cumulative, over time patterns emerge and you learn much about your emotional self.
2) Super charge your water with crystals: Not all crystals can go in water, if you are unsure please just place them beside your glass or bottle. If you do know you can add it (don’t swallow it). Rose Quartz in your water bottle is magic. If you need the crystal equivalent to rescue remedy, try Blue Lace Agate in your bottle.
3) Super charge your water with doTERRA essential oils: Please be cautious with aromatherapy orally.
This is why I say doTERRA oils, because they are certified for internal use due to the exceptionally high quality.
Also less is more, they are very strong. For example; 1 drop of their pure therapeutic peppermint is equal to 28 cups of peppermint tea.
As such if you make a jug of water and want to flavour it with therapeutic peppermint use the tip of a toothpick, so it is not a full drop, stir and taste. Same applies with Lemon, Wild Orange or even Lavender.
