Hello Rainbow tribe.
It is Beltane at the end of the month, so our theme reflects the lesson of this seasonal shift;
Celebration of Growth - Beltane
Beltane is halfway between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice.
It represents the beginning of summer and is a time when all animals have awoken, symbolising our awakening consciousness.
It is the last of the 3 Spring fertility festivals. And is the counterpart to Samhain (Halloween), which divides the year into two primary seasons.
Winter – dark, feminine, receptive, yin
Summer – light, masculine, projective, yang
Halloween if celebrated in South Africa is usually celebrated on the 30th October. This is in fact the Northern Hemisphere point for Halloween and their Beltane is May Day.
A reminder that we have been focusing on these seasonal gates this year. If you are new to my mailing list, or you just want to look back for a refresher, you can find the archived newsletters on my website www.rainbowwisdom.co.za
A commonality between Beltane and Samhain is that this is a seasonal gateway when time and space are suspended and the veil between this world and the others is thinnest.
Halloween/Samhain is known to be a time for communicating with the dead.
Beltane is usually more about communication with the fairy folk.
That said, thin veils are thin veils.
So, if trying to connect with those who have passed the 30th and 31st are good opportunities.
See the Spotlight Advice for more info or some ideas of how to work with and empower this energy yourself.
Astrology Buzz
Libra, Sep 23rd to Oct 22nd is the sign of relationships and partnerships.
So, this would be the time to re-evaluate what it is that you value most and look to creating a better balance where those relationships are concerned.
Scorpio Oct 23rd to Nov 22nd is always an intensely transformative time, if we use it wisely.
After evaluating your relationships (from personal to work to your relationship with yourself) in the Libra season, now is an opportunity to feel what feelings you have bubbling up and to look into the shadow in order to move through them.
New Moon in Libra was on the 28th of September. It was the last of 3 Super New Moons in a row. So, the need to achieve balance to work with peoples in partnerships, relationships or any collaborations is extremely potent now. This will be further mirrored by the Full Moon in Aries. (see below)
I will elaborate more next month on the Scorpio New Moon on the 28th Oct.
Red Tent is a magical lunar practice that helps us use the moon’s rhythms to create harmony, balance and overall wellbeing in our lives. Please enquire for more info if you feel called to.
Next Red Tent’s;
OCT
Mon 28th: Grahamstown 1.30-4.30pm
Tue29th: Port Alfred 7-10pm
Wed 30th Port Alfred 1.30-4.30
Full Moon is in Aries on the 13th opposing the Sun in Libra.
As I mentioned Libra is about working together and Aries is the opposite, more of a lone ranger.
The spotlight of the full moon will be forcing us to look at where in our lives we are obsessively controlling and wanting things our own way to the point we are avoiding co creating and collaborating.

Team Aventurine
With the energy of Libra working as a team or family seemed so appropriate.
I went with the commonly found and inexpensive Aventurine family.
Aventurine comes in Green (most commonly), Red and Blue.
Balance would be the first word I would use to describe Aventurine…another plus in Libra season.
It is an abundance stone.
It also has an extremely strong connection to nature, helping us to reconnect to our natural rhythms.
Just as the seasonal gates or Sabbats do.
Beltane is the final one we are covering having enjoyed a year of theming to these Sabbats to help us understand Mother Nature and her cycles and how to honour them in nature and in ourselves.
Aventurine will help you to clear the electromagnetic pollution from cell phones, computers, TV etc from your aura and reset as the summer begins.
Also helping you to meet the thinning of the veils, clear and unclouded.
Each colour has its own specific uses over and above this.
Green – Is an overall balancer and tonic. Working particularly well on the heart chakra and all that it relates to.
Red – Works well on both root and heart chakra, helping to balance body and emotions and bring them into alignment.
Blue – Is fantastic for calming and balancing the mind. This will be especially needed in the dual air sign of Libra.
Aromas of the month
I am soooooo excited to say that doTERRA Essential Oils is opening very soon in South Africa and I am thrilled to be a Wellness Advocate for them.
The quality and ethos of this company has blown me away and I can’t wait for you to try their products.
If you are interested, please contact me.
I have selected a combination of fresh, flowery and insect repellent oils this month. Summer bringing with it the rather annoying mosquito.
Lavender is perhaps the number one oil (and you all know I can’t choose only one easily) we should all have in our homes.
It calms the busy mind, soothes the frayed nerves eases burns, bites, sprains, scrapes and bruised. Oh, and did I mention she enhances all of the other oils she works with.
Peppermint is an absolute gem in our house.
As 3 out of the 5 of us suffer from headaches and migraine it is invaluable, and usually used with Lavender for this particular issue.
They combine well too for a mozzi repellent especially with our other pic of the month Citronella.
Peppermint is also a brilliant oil to clear the mind (again useful with the busy Libra mind), deodorise and freshen the home and any digestive complaint.
Citronella is lemony and fresh. It is recognisable if you have ever bought a natural bug repellent, as chances are it was in that blend.
Wonderful for natural home cleaning products, deodorising or a refreshing pick me up.
It combines well with both Lavender and Peppermint too.
Blend suggestions:
Mozzie blend in 100ml Aqueous cream - 20 drops Lavender, 20 Citronella 10 Peppermint and 10 drops Cedarwood
After Sun/Sore Tummy blend in 100ml Neutral Gel – 30 drops Lavender and 10 drops Peppermint
Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
Spotlight Advice
Beltane (in the Southern Hemisphere)
To add to what I have already said about Beltane I wanted to mention another famous symbol most of us are aware of in some part at least, the maypole.
It is a tall pole decorated with ribbons, flowers and a wreath on top. It is said to encourage the fertility of the land.
Young women and men each hold a ribbon and dance around the pole braiding the ribbon as they go.
The dancing acts as a conduit of energy connecting the 3 realms.
The energy created from the dancing is returned to the earth activating the mother’s womb.
There is a strong association with divine feminine and divine masculine. Or the union of Earth and Sun.
Some things to do as close to the 31st of October for Beltane would be;
Action Steps
1) Dance preferably barefoot outside on the grass or sand to connect your soles to Mother Earth as you gift her with love and appreciation for all she yields for us.
She in turn gifts you grounding and support. The Fae folk love to dance and they are more easily felt at this time of year too, so tap into their playful and nature loving energy.
2) Weave or braid ribbons as a symbol for the maypole.
This is a fun, playful and creative activity. Use it for yourself or to teach friends or children about Beltane.
3) Make flower seed bombs which you can throw ceremonially in your garden or go for a walk and throw them onto grassy side walks or parks where you would like to see flowers grow.
Just google how to make them, here is one site.
