The Energy equivalent of big wave surfing

March 2022

Welcome to a big month, where I hope we can all ride the waves.

And should we get dumped by said waves and tumbled like we are in a washing machine, not knowing which way is up…may we surrender to the not knowing and in so doing float naturally to the surface with as little resistance as possible.

Poseidon

Poseidon is most famously known as the god of the sea.

One of the many children of the Titan god Cronus.

The Roman version of this Greek god is Neptune.

Poseidon after having been swallowed by his father was eventually freed from his father’s belly, along with his other siblings by their youngest brother Zeus.

Once freed, by Zeus, Poseidon and another of their brother’s, Hades fought their father and won.

Thereafter each of the three brothers ruled over a domain.

Zeus got the sky, Hades the underworld and Poseidon became god of the Sea.

find posts on Cronus, Zeus, and Hades on my blog.

Even though Poseidon held one of the 12 seats of the Olympian gods, he preferred to spend most of his time away from Mt Olympus in his own domain.

He owns a palace of jewels under the sea, where he understandably felt more comfortable.

There are many myths in which Poseidon is featured, and many of those have to do with his multitudes of affairs which led to almost as many children and scandals as his brother Zeus.

He fathered gods, demigods, mortals, nymphs, giants, and animals.

A few of the more famous myths associated with him are his two big run ins with Athena the goddess of war and wit.

In the battle with Athena to have rulership over Athens, Athena’s wit won out.

When her gift of an olive tree, which would provide food, oil, wood, and sustainable farming on the arid island, easily out bid his gift of a saltwater spring to a community surrounded by sea.

Athens was named after Athena and Poseidon retreated to lick his wounds.

Where Medusa was concerned, there were no winners, but poor Medusa was certainly an unfair casualty of war.

The beautiful Medusa had given her life to be a priestess of Athena. When Poseidon set his sights on her she did all she could to avoid his advances. One day struggling to hide from him she took refuge in Athena’s temple.

But that was not enough to stop Poseidon and he raped her in the temple.

Enraged, and unable to punish the god, Athena cursed Medusa, turning her beautiful hair into seven snakes, and ensuring that anyone she looked at would turn to stone.

Pegasus is Poseidon’s child by Medusa, when she was beheaded, he burst forth from her neck.

Poseidon rode a chariot pulled by hippocampi, horse like creatures with fish tails.

His major symbol the Trident was forged by the Cyclopes.

Dolphins are another of his symbols.

He was also known as the god of storms, horses, earthquakes, and navigation.

Sailors took and still take him very seriously.

Harnessing Neptune…

Neptune is an outer planet, not visible with the naked eye and only discovered in September 1846.

The second of the three outer planets, along with Uranus and Pluto, who I have already covered.

It takes more than 150 years for Neptune to do a full orbit.

Which is around 14 years in a sign.

Although Jupiter is the traditional ruler the sign Pisces, Neptune became the modern ruler.

What is quite remarkable is this year we have both Jupiter and Neptune at home in the sign of Pisces for the first time since 1856.

This is a rare and powerful portal of time for us to work on all things Pisces.

If you have planets or points there you will certainly feel this energy.

Pisces is said to be the dreamer, mystic and wise sage, the final sign in the zodiac.

In shadow there can be addiction, illusion and even delusion.

Much of that linked to the Neptunian rulership.

Neptune also enjoys visiting Cancer and Aquarius.

He is less comfortable in Leo and Virgo.

Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto are known as generational planets, because they are so slow moving that there will be a generation of people who share the same Neptune sign.

This makes it less about your personality and more about the collective experience.

Neptune represents the ethereal, transcendent, and intangible, almost like a different realm altogether.

Neptune is the imaginal world. Nothing ever created was created without it first appearing in the imaginal world.

This is a powerful place of dreaming things that could come into being.

Of dissolving what does not work, merging and timelessly transcending what seems to be concrete empirical reality by suspending your beliefs and tuning instead into your intuition, symbolism, myth, spirituality, religion, and ideals.

Neptune is enchanting, and this can be in both a positive and negative sense.

Where we cross over into the shadows of this energy we have perceptual distortion that can lead to illusion and even delusion.

It can also be intoxicating and addictive, with a leaning to escapism,

psychosis, narcissism, religious dogma and generally from dream to nightmare.

Neptune is like a higher octave of Venus, and has a strong connection to the Moon.

Spotlight Advice

Tuning in with Neptune

If you are resonating strongly with this Archetype, then I am going to give you a few suggestions.

It is always helpful to have a guide or mentor when doing a study of the self… it can be very hard to be objective with yourself.

Neptune can be particularly unclear, and a good knowledge of symbolism, myth and archetypes will help.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for coaching, guiding, or healing.

Action Steps

What is my Neptune sign?

First you need to know what sign your natal Neptune is in.

As it is generational the where in your chart (house) will make it more personal. I will give you a ballpark break down, but you will notice there are overlapping years. This requires checking your natal chart. May be fun to look back in history to that time. What big dream themes showed up in the ideology of the time.

Neptune in Virgo 1928 – 1942

Neptune in Libra 1942 - 1956

Neptune in Scorpio 1956 - 1970

Neptune in Sagittarius 1970 - 1984

Neptune in Capricorn 1984 - 1998

Neptune in Aquarius 1998 - 2012

Neptune in Pisces 2012 - 2026

Radical Self-Care: because Neptune is very prominent right now this is more important than ever.

As hypersensitivity (whatever your usual level is, the amps have been turned up) is unavoidable, there is a need to up level your self-care.

This is for mind, emotions, body and soul.

Here are a few ideas to add to your toolbox.

Meditation, journaling, drink more water, moderate your exercise (for the overachiever slow down, for the sedentary get moving), psychotherapy, energy healing, essential oils, crystals, pets, get out in nature, tech detox, healthy nutrition, play time, dance, creative time, down time, afternoon naps, a good book and even a good movie/series.

Dream: don’t worry if you are one of those people that doesn’t remember your dreams, there is work here for you too.

For those who do remember their dreams start to dream journal or at least go over the dreams a few times, noticing any symbols that stand out.

Then watch in your waking life for these things showing up in some way.

If you don’t recall your sleeping dreams, practice daydreaming. Gaze out the window or at the waves/clouds/stars and just let your mind wonder till images, ideas or thoughts have some free flow. Then see how symbols and awareness’s repeat.

”I waking sleep, or sleeping wake?”

though I do not know who to credit for this quote it has had a profound effect on me.

Who is to say whether our waking or sleeping time is more real?

A bit like the Matrix movie…which pill do you want?

Do you really want to know how much of an illusion your day-to-day life is?

Astrology Buzz

Venus Mars conjunction: these two cosmic lovers have had an unusually extended date. Been back and forth with who oversees this relationship since the 15th of Feb.

On the New Moon they will conjoin with Pluto and dare to delve into the darkest parts of the relationship to see what treasure will be revealed.

Then on the 7th this duo will enter a new sign together.

Leaving Capricorn and entering at 0 degrees of Aquarius, the exact point Jupiter and Saturn entered on 21 Dec 2020 for the great conjunction.

Look back to that point to see what theme will be showing up again.

If you would like to have a Venus Mars Tarot Astro reading to understand your major themes and lessons at this time, let me know.

Pisces Feb 19th to Mar 20th is our 12th and final sign. There is an urge to merge…water will always strive to merge with the ocean. Perfect time to water your dreams, take it slow, allow your emotions to flow and get enough rest.

In Pisces we are more comfortable as the wave, when we enter Aries, we are striving to be the particle.

Aries Mar 21st to Apr 20th after all that dissolving, merging, and boundarylessness we are ready to ignite. Time to resolve, emerge and find our bound_Aries again.

We begin a new turn of the wheel, with the enthusiastic headfirst Aries.

New Moon:

March New Moon is on the 2nd in the sign of Pisces.

This is going to be a big New Moon with most of the planets meeting up with one or two other planets. BIG shifts for those who want to consciously create the life they dream of.

Full Moon

March full moon is in Virgo on the 18th opposing the Sun in Pisces.

The planets have opened up since the New Moon, and the sun and moon are now in the last degrees of their opposing signs.

Physically for Virgo and Pisces, digestion, pancreas, autonomic nervous system, immune and lymphatic systems, pineal gland

Questions are tailored to the exact planetary alignment over this Full Moon.

Most especially the strong positive conversation between Sun and Moon with Pluto.

They will be most potent if started over the 3 days of Full moon 17th, 18th and 19th, there is never a wrong time to reflect however, all is in divine timing.

Questions you may ask yourself in Virgo/Pisces, will be sent out later this month, closer to the Full Moon

Crystal picks for March

Neptune theme

Celestite has a beautiful gentle energy, like the voices of angels.

It is great for connecting to the angelic realm.

I chose it for Neptune because it is magical and easily goes beyond what we can perceive in our everyday reality to the higher frequencies or other realms. It is very soothing.

It is a soft stone on the Mohs hardness scale and in the energetic sense.

A good support for any of your mindfulness practices, to tune you into that meditative and peaceful space.

Gently supporting your boundaries in a kind of permeable bubble way rather than a hard wall.

Amethyst is a firm favourite in my work and a stone very useful for both Aquarius and Pisces. It like celestite can bring clarity in a gentle way.

I also love it for Neptune with its focus on supporting addiction and addictive tendencies.

More often a reliever of anxiety and quieting the monkey mind, it can be used to boost energy when needed.

It has a strong feminine energy and being violet in colour links to energies such as the violet flame, Archangel Michael, Christ consciousness and of course our crown chakra.

Lapis Lazuli will bring us a firmer and sterner boundary.

With all this Neptunian dissolving of barriers and boundaries Lapis says ‘hey, you can be intuitive and stay focused with boundaries intact at the same time’

I for one appreciate Lapis’ bossy, straight talking whip cracking. Perhaps because I need it, how about you?

It helps us get clear on the symbols and consolidate our structure. Bringing the intuition practically into our daily lives.

Disclaimer: crystals should not be used as cures but rather as support.

Whoop whoop, you can even book a crystal healing session from anywhere in the world via my website now.

Aromas of the month

Cypress and Melissa are my Neptune oils.

Cypress is a good assist to sharpen the mind, which with Neptune’s dream like quality will likely be needed.

Emotionally it takes us from being stalled or stagnant -à to progressing which is also a powerful link to our theme.

It boosts circulation, flow of the urinary tract, lymphatic system and can also calm excessive flow as in bedwetting or heavy menstrual cycles.

Melissa from and emotional standpoint can work from being depressed -à light filled

It is available from doTERRA in a touch roller and has a very herbaceous smell. Personally, I like to blend it with a flower or citrus oil.

I kind of feel like this oil represents the sign of Virgo, which is a great one to balance Pisces and Neptune.

It is grounding, digestive, boosts immunity and calms anxiety, shock and depression.

doTERRA is CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade)

Uses and Blend suggestions:

Roll with the feelings taking your Melissa touch roller (which has Fractionated Coconut oil already added) roll onto your wrists, base of scull and the bends of your elbows. Then add a drop or two of any of the following Geranium, Lavender, Wild Orange, Lemon, layered over the Melissa.

This will calm and ground you as you process some of the big Neptune feelings and insights…keeping you rooted in reality.

Breath and dissolve the excess– 5 drops Cypress, 2 drops Lemongrass and 2 drops Geranium into your diffuser and enjoy.

Cypress will clear the mind, Lemongrass will bring the light in the darkness and Geranium will hold space for the feelings.

Let me know if you like these blends, recipes, and suggestions.

Note: How Fast do Essential oils work?

It takes 22 seconds for the molecules to reach the brain.

In 2 minutes, Essential oils will be found in the bloodstream.

By 20 minutes they will affect every cell in the body

SAMPLE ALERT – I love to sample for FREE those who are keen to try out my magical oily friends. Do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to be sampled.

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
