Nov 2023
Time to dig deep and get real…your body stores everything you have ever experienced and it can only carry so much before it breaks!
We are so conditioned to be externally productive and to be constantly doing.
Not many of us give our body the support it needs to keep housing us well.
We service our cars, we maintain our houses but our bodies, not so much.
We mostly don’t eat as well as we could.
Too much of some things and not enough of others.
We hopefully have some form of exercise routine, but is it right for our body?
We may get a massage now and again or get our hair done.
Or if we are really good, have a few monthly or daily practices that support us to a point.
And I know, there is a LOT to get done, always.
With a To Do list that never ends and that for most of us, we are at the bottom of that bottomless to do list.
But, your body cannot wait for ever.
And it is only when we don’t have our health or our mobility that we WISH we had done something sooner.
By now, most of us know that there is a mind body connection and I hope also a heart/mind/body link.
So, what can we do to change the way we care for our bodies?
This is going to look different for each of us, and this is why we need to listen to our own body to learn what s/he needs.
Disclaimer – here comes some astrology speak, leap forward if it’s all ancient Greek to you.
This month we have Sun conjunct Mars in Scorpio, so we have a few years of really digging into the practices in our life that are harmful rather than helpful and an exceptionally alchemical boost to change them for the better. Personally, I want to use this magic well.
It is Scorpion season and Scorpio is a forensic investigator.
With microscopic precision we can dive into the areas of trauma and toxicity and then like a phoenix transform them.
As we have just completed the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse axis that started Nov 2021 the hidden issues have already been disrupted enough that we can now access them.
With that I want us to dive into the shadow side of not listening to, and looking after our bodies.
I am being faced with more and more stories of young people, seemingly fit and healthy being diagnosed with scary and often terminal things.
And also, even more of us getting clear warnings that the way we are living is pushing our bodies too far with chronic health issues and sudden ‘accidental’ injuries.
Let me get personal for a minute, because if my experience can wake even one other person up to the importance of listening to their body then it will be worth it.
This is not a judgment, or intended to hurt, but just my experience and how it impacted my body.
Five and a half years ago after me pleading for many months my husband finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease which led to dialysis and later a transplant.
I would say things like ‘we are going through dialysis’, ‘we have transplant surgery coming up’ etc (watch the words you speak and think) because for me it was our diagnosis, not just his.
I stepped onto one of those fancy scale things that tell you your biological age and at 39 chronologically it told me my biological age was 50!
I did what I could to look after my needs.
After tending to my three young children, sick husband, pets, family, friends, clients (well you know how it goes).
Post transplant when the pattern of excessive drinking started again, my reaction was visceral.
I was shocked by my body’s reaction to somebody else’s behavior.
One day, two years later I got a very loud and clear message that this pattern would kill me, literally.
And I believed it.
After being in denial, having no personal boundaries, not being accountable for my own choices with how to look after myself better for 18 years, I reluctantly, resistantly, still not believing it was the end, packed him a suitcase and said, ‘Enough, I can’t do this anymore’.
Then my crying year 2022 (not that I am not still crying often), and my pushing myself out into the world year 2023 and still my body is trying to recover.
I am trying to rebuild trust with her, and I cannot blame her for being suspicious of me and my motives.
I have always used my tools to, well to survive, if I am honest.
Yoga, meditation, essential oils, crystals, red tent, close friendships, journaling, walks in nature and on and on.
And survive I have, through some really tough stuff.
But I want more than survival, I want to thrive and for that I need to take it to the next level, not only of self-awareness but of listening and following through with what my body tells me she needs.
No more pushing through the pain, unless she whispers, ‘with this we need to lovingly push through the pain’.
How can I listen to my body?
Again, I want to say that this looks different for each of us.
One thing I have noticed in my own journey is an accelerated feedback loop.
For example, I have had fibromyalgia since I was a teen, and when flare ups would happen (until the last 5 years), I would struggle to discern what had triggered them.
Now however, if I have an emotionally traumatic event and within a day or three my body says something. I now know what the trigger was, because it has just happened and I am able to work through it.
For me that is talking it through with trusted friends, journaling, meditation, and so on.
Feeling all the feelings around the thing, painful as they are, helps me to release the pain in my body.
That is an example around a chronic condition, but the same applies in acute cases.
Two weeks ago, I had heard something that rocked me to my core.
I was so emotionally and mentally disrupted.
As I was walking down the street my ankle rolled and pulled the ligaments in my left ankle…I know why I was painfully stopped in my tracks.
I will admit being forced to slow down is a common theme for me, one I still struggle to listen to, but I am trying, or the accident will be more serious next time.
I fully believe our bodies are only trying to support us.
The louder they get the less we are listening.
When you eat something and have cramps all night, your body is saying, ‘I can’t digest this’.
Start experimenting, try a smaller portion, or eating that food less frequently to see if you get the same reaction…and if you do, can you let it go?
If you go for a run and the next day you are stiff and sore, is it that nice pain, that says you are building strength and stamina?
Or are you grinding on an old injury or inflaming something?
If you have never read Louise Hay’s, ‘You can heal your life’, then this would be a good time.
Every part of your body she links to an emotional and mental pattern. Let’s use ankle as an example from her book.
Probable cause of ankle issues:
Inflexibility and guilt. Ankles represent the ability to receive pleasure.
New thought pattern:
I deserve to rejoice in life. I accept al the pleasure life has to offer.
In a nutshell, the only way to build a relationship built on love and trust with your body, is to listen, learn and be accountable for your choices.
Be reliable for your body so that your body is able to be reliable for you.
If you are wanting support and a more personalized idea of how to get started, book a session and I will be your guide from the side.

Scorpio Oct 24th to Nov 22nd
here we are, deep in it, some super intense things coming up to be explored and we may be rather emotionally charged and even defensive.
What do I get from you?
What do you take from me?
It may start to sound accusatory and resentful in Scorpio season as we look at what resources we are getting and how and where we get them.
Equally what resources are we giving and are we giving willingly or against our will?
These are some complex and tangled dynamics that will likely push up in some way shape or form as we have Mercury and Mars beginning a new cycle in Scorpio and a Sun Mars cycle beginning too.
The plus is new ways of thinking, and doing in these situations.
Please watch for manipulation and deception by you or directed at you.
Sagittarius Nov 23rd to Dec 22nd
as usual each archetype (sign) has a corrective quality for the one who went before.
In the case of Sagittarius following Scorpio, it may be something like this.
You have gone too deep down a rabbit hole of suspicion and resentment is building.
You are obsessing and you can’t see the wood for the trees.
In comes Sag to save the day, his jubilant and expansive fun nature will drag you out of the hole and take you to a party.
Sagittarius rules the hips, thighs and gluts.
Go,Go,Go, he gets you up and moving before your waters freeze his fire turns you to steam.
Let’s travel, let’s explore, let’s expand our horizons and learn something more.
Like I said, Sag for the win.
Can you see the beauty of the cycle? Each time it is getting too much in one sign or season, the next steps in to rectify and rebalance.

The Scorpio New moon officially sees the end of the last eclipse season. I am grateful for what the eclipses brought up but relieved that we have moved out of the intensity. Saying that, they are still impacting but the intensity dial is well down.
Scorpio New Moon is on the 13th of October.
Gemini Full Moon is on the 27th of October

Crystals Made Simple
Check out my Udemy course.
Jasper is a stone I come back to again and again.
In part because, I operate at warp speed, often to my detriment and this is a crystal family that slows me down.
That is a large part of why I chose it this month.
It has a slow and steady type of operating system which our bodies really appreciate and value.
As such this supreme nurturer will help to down regulate our frazzled nerves and get us to pause for long enough to pay attention the origin on the ache or the pain.
And if we keep on holding our touch stone as we begin to ponder why we have such a stiff neck the answer will be easier to find thanks to wise old Jasper.
Jasper in grounding and protective and works particularly well on the circulatory and digestive systems. Also good for sexual organs and our mineral balance.
It comes in an array of colors and varieties and each will have its own area of expertise.
I have more varieties of Jasper than I care to mention. Yes I do have a crystal obsession.

This killed me, about 10 oils rushed into my mind at once and I wanted to write about them all! How can I choose one oil on the topic of body awareness and health!!!!
Obviously in the interest of time, yours and mine, I had to pick.
Tantamount to torture for this Gemini, but I am very happy with the pick.
Copaiba is an absolutely fabulous oil, in many ways similar to CBD oil.
It has a lot of good anti power
Anti-inflammatory
Antiarthritic
Antibacterial
Antifungal
Anti-carcinoma
Anti-microbial
Antioxidant
As you can see it covers a multitude of sins.
It has a beautiful clean and grounding scent and is super calming.
I take a drop daily internally (please only use the best quality oils like doTERRA if taking oils internally) for inflammation and general support for my system.
It is a wood oil which gives it a strong, stable, commanding energy but it is also comforting.
Use any oils that are 100% pure essential oils, not fragrance oils.
I highly recommend doTERRA which is CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade).
Do you want to use the magic of doTERRA essential oils to support your growth?
Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
