What is your Adaptability Super Power ?

March 2023

Hello Rainbow tribe, hope this finds you well.

We are now in a mutable energy which I have found is often when bugs do the rounds.

Top up on your vitamins and we will dive into the energy.

Mutable Energy

Let’s unpack the last of the three modes of astrology, having covered the other two over the last couple of months. Find them on my website if you are interested (link at the bottom of the newsletter)

1) Cardinal

2) Fixed

3) Mutable

These are the next layer to understanding yourself through the archetypal lens of astrology and life.

These three energies link to a season.

We start the season with a cardinal sign, fix into the season with a fixed sign and begin to shift season with a mutable sign.

This month as the sun travels through a mutable sign that is where we will focus.

Mutable energy whispers to us that the season is changing. It is a 30-day period where we go from ‘yes I am definitely Summer’ to ‘I can feel the cooling to Autumn, and that’s okay, nothing stays the same’.

Obviously same applies for any of the seasons.

There are four Mutable signs; Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

If you have strong energy in any of the 4 you may feel this mode resonates strongly with you.

Remembering that you are likely a combination of all three with a stronger predisposition to one of them.

There is a way to tally up your mode and your element score.

For example, my daughter has; 2 Cardinal, 10 Fixed, 11 Mutable

In this example, mutable is the dominant mode, though it is a tight win with fixed just behind.

She may find that she has an internal struggle between resisting change and adapting easily.

If your mutable energy is very high by comparison to the others, it can be a case of how to mitigate it, or if it is excessively low, how to build it up.

There is a mutable sign in each of the 4 elements, each has a different power to reinvent themselves. They will not always approve of one another’s methods though.

These signs are at 90 degree or 180-degree angles from one another. If you remember from our Aspects theme, these are tricky aspects…a reminder below.

The Opposition – 2 planets at 180 degrees from each other…opposite

Think tug-of-war, they are polarized and represent opposite points of view. This will always be a challenge to mitigate internally because it would be like trying to placate waring siblings on opposite sides of the room, you can only focus on one at a time and feel constantly pulled between the two.

The Square – planets at 90 degrees from one another.

Pressure to change. Think of a right angle and a planet on either side, both adamant that their way is the right way and a rather stubborn refusal to compromise. This creates uncomfortable pressure, but if we surrender, we may transform into a diamond.

I do have posts on my website www.rainbowwisdom.co.za covering the Planets, the Signs, Houses, Aspects and more, should you want to refresh on any of those.

How does this help?

Start by looking at your chart and seeing where (the Houses) your Mutable energy is and if you have planets or points there.

Now look at how you hyper adapt, through which element and where.

Gemini – Mutable Air

I have an amazing imagination and am a born storyteller. I can create the most amazing places with my mind, and can add and subtract things I want to change, just as easily with my curiosity and wit.

Sometimes I come across as fickly and flighty. Some would call me shallow, because I float like a dandelion seed in the breeze.

I mean no offence, there is just so much to see and explore that I can be easily distracted.

My adaptable mind and endless curiosity and love of learning are my super powers.

Virgo – Mutable Earth

I LOVE little animals and all the beautiful details of nature. Each leaf tells a story and each fallen feather sings of flight.

I love to look after those who need me, and to whistle while I work.

I can be a perfectionist and when my inner critic starts telling me ‘I will never do the job perfectly’…I am ashamed to say I may procrastinate so much I neglect the job entirely.

I love to be in the garden preparing for the changing seasons, planning for what’s to come and feeding and nourishing others with healing foods.

My ability to adapt and grow in the service of healing is my super power.

Sagittarius – Mutable Fire

I know I can be a bit much for people at times.

I have been called a know-it-all more than once.

Can I help it if I am usually, right?

I am passionate about exploring new places and different cultures.

I love to understand how others experience religion and philosophy.

I want to learn and understand far more than just the little village to which I was born. I believe in the goodness of humanity, and that joy is part of the journey.

My super power is in my ability to explore and inspire, constantly changing and adapting as I go.

Pisces – Mutable Water

I feel tied to you, it’s so hard to tell where you end and I begin. Sometimes I just want to sleep or do anything that dulls my often-painful experience of the world.

But I also feel such compassion and love for all of humanity and indeed all of Earth and her children.

As a mystic I know we are all one and I believe the more we individuate the more we come home to the collective.

My emotional sensitivity, connectivity and adaptability are my super powers.

Four very different malleable abilities which ones resonate more with you…do you have planets there?

Example Lewis Carroll had his Moon, Mars and Venus in Sagittarius, Saturn in Virgo and Gemini ruling the 7th house of relationships.

He was very well educated and actually a lecturer of mathematics, and was an ordained deacon in the church of England (Sagittarius).

He grew up with a reverend for a father and was called to be of service early, writing for the rectory magazines from the age of 12 (Virgo in the 9th house). He was a shy boy; he had a stammer.

He was able to express through his writing and also his characters became so relatable to those unspoken parts of ourselves.

Especially the much-loved characters in Alice in Wonderland (Gemini in the 7th).

If you see planets in more than one of the mutable signs in your chart, read the little synopsis of each sign and ask yourself if you can feel those internal struggles and how to manage them.

Astrology Buzz

Pisces Feb 19th to Mar 20th the end of the season is near, both Summer/Winter (hemisphere dependent) and the end of the 12-month zodiacal wheel ends in this sign. Allow for release of the old and all the feelings that come with that, so you are ready to birth anew in Aries.

Aries Mar 21st to Apr 20th are you remembering to breathe? Do it now, three deep breaths, drop into your heart and your body. There are huge revolutionary changes afoot for humanity and for you. Remember to plant your feet and take your time.

Saturn in Pisces

This is a big shift, and will be especially strong for anyone who has Saturn in a mutable sign natally or mutable signs on the angles.

Link below will explain and book a personal reading if you want to learn how you will be personally affected.

Pluto in Aquarius

Pluto is finally beginning to shift after 15 years in Capricorn.

This will begin the 20-year journey of change.

Watch YouTube for more info on what this means, and .book a personal reading if you want to learn how you will be personally affected.

Full Moon

February Full Moon is in Virgo on the 7th opposing the Sun in Pisces.

Watch the YouTube discussion around this energy.

Physically for Virgo and Pisces, stomach, digestive tract, lymphatic system, immune system, feet and toes.

New Moon

Aries New Moon is on the 21st of March.

The last early degree New Moon, because we have 2 Aries New Moons this year and the next one will be at the last degree of Aries.

This double reset is also where Red Tent 2.0 begins.

I am excited to reset, reboot and journey with you through the next level of our personal self-discovery.

The more we explore and uncover about ourselves (shadow and light) the more authentic and accountable we can be.

We have been journeying through the eyes of the Moon for six years now, and it feels like it is time to dive deeper into the other parts of our psyche.

This will be a deep dive, one puzzle piece at a time into your own birth chart (blueprint).

We will start with the Aries New Moon 21st March 2023.

Can you believe we have a doubly lucky reset with 2 Aries New Moons this year (last time was in 2004).

Our March 21st will be about doing an intentional treasure map (vision board) dedicated to the treasures of self-discovery and anything else we want to attract for the next 13 months.

From the 2nd Aries New Moon, we will begin to look at our own chart and learn about the Archetype of the month, starting with Mars.

You will learn how you get what you want, where that is empowered and where it is challenged and how to develop your understanding of your Martian self.

Following that will be Venus, then Mercury and away we go.

I am definitely running this virtually but if I have enough keen to gather in person, that will also be available.

My plan is to keep this at the very affordable R200/$15 monthly membership.

Please message me with a Yes, yes, yes, if you have been dying to dive into deeper self-awareness.

Crystals Made Simple

Check out my Udemy course.

Looking at mutable crystal energy I will give one option for each of the Mutable signs.

Crysocolla – Gemini – Mutable Air

Is one of my favorite creative stones, perfect for the imaginative Gemini.

It is a vibrant turquoise colour.

It is also great at slowing and anchoring creative ideas and expression, which is very helpful for mutable air energy.

Mutable energy gets stabilized and boosted.

There is also a protective and detoxifying aspect of Chrysocolla.

Jade – Virgo – Mutable Earth

Aah, soft and gentle in its action and literally a soft enough stone that it is easily and often carved into figurines.

Associated with the goddess Kuan Yin as both she and Jade have a compassionate, healing energy. Just as Virgo does.

Mutable earth can get overly stuck in the details and Jade is good and calming the storm of overwhelm.

Carnelian - Sagittarius – Mutable Fire

This humble stone, found in every scratch patch is affordable, ‘common’ and amazingly effective.

It is a fabulous crystal to work with for all eating issues from excess to not eating.

Mutable fire has a tendency to excess or forgetting things due to the deep devotional energy of Sag.

It also has a beautiful creative fire, but can cool burning energy as fast as it can spark momentum.

Pearls – Pisces – Mutable Water

Pearls of wisdom for the mystical, magical Pisces.

Pearls are formed through trauma, a grain of sand cutting into the soft flesh of an oyster.

As such they teach us that we can choose to grow beautiful, iridescent and wise from our trauma’s, or just stay cut up and cutting.

Trust in the flow of life to bring experiences that will provide us opportunity to grow.

Aromatherapy Made Simple

Same again let’s look at one example of a good Mutable oil for each sign.

Spearmint – Gemini – Mutable Air

Bright, fresh and fun, Spearmint is the perfect Gemini oil.

Not as intense and piercing as peppermint, but a little lighter and flirtier.

Leaving a fresh breath for all that mutable air chit chat.

Good for digestion and mental acuity.

Gemini can be all over the place and Spearmint will focus the mind and get Gemini to digest before flying off to the next thing.

Geranium – Virgo – Mutable Earth

This oil is the perfect ‘cool, calm and collected’ oil. As our mutable earth can be a worry wort, Geranium is a wonderful oil to employ to soothe our emotions and a troubled mind.

It vibrates at a green frequency, making it a good balancing oil and for the heart chakra too.

It is an oil that can be classified as both flower and herb, giving it a broad spectrum of operation for us.

Like Virgo, Geranium is a wonderful healer.

Myrrh - Sagittarius – Mutable Fire

Myrrh is a sticky, fiery colored resin that may be just the thing to contain the wild fire that is Sagittarius.

It is emotionally balancing and all mutable energy because they have a foot in two worlds are in need of balancing.

It is also great for meditation and spiritual work which is a very important piece for mutable fire.

When Sag gets too expansive and boundless, Myrrh can bring calm and focus, a sticky, ‘stick to where you are for a moment’ kind of vibe.

Ylang ylang – Pisces – Mutable Water

Another emotionally balancing oil, never more needed than with this sensitive sign. Ylang ylang is a sedative type strong floral oil, that is calming and soothing.

Taking all the anxiety, overwhelm and feelings that burden poor mutable water and shifting them to exuberance and expansiveness.

There is a sweet romantic aroma to Ylang ylang that appeals to the Pisces vibration.

Use any oils that are 100% pure essential oils, not fragrance oils.

I highly recommend doTERRA which is CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade).

Do you want to use the magic of doTERRA essential oils to support your growth?

Remember to write your blends in your blend book so you remember what you liked and what you didn’t.
